"Good morning sleepyhead," said Lilly, her golden pixie haircut messy and tangled. "Go away!" groaned her younger brother, not in the mood for talking. "Comet James, get out of bed now!" she said, her voice almost as sharp as her dark brown eyes. "What is that smell?" said Comet, his thirst growing. "Oh, you won't know unless you get up and check it out," Lilly said, trying to get her pesky vampire brother out of bed.
As soon as she could blink he was completely dressed and finding out what it was he smelled. "I'm so thirsty," he said on his way to where it was coming from. "Comet James!" his sister yelled from the other room "Don't you hurt him!" Comet had found the smell, it was his sister's new boy toy, a human.
There Comet was, stunned from hunger, and worry. Worry, because he didn't know how much she had told the boy, and hunger because he hadn't fed in weeks. His sister ran to him with her hand-cut, a typical move to distract her little brother from anything. He was more predictable than a twilight book. "Comet?" she said, not realizing how hungry he was. He glared at her hand, his eyes wide. Lilly pulled the shoulder of her shirt down to tell her brother that it was ok, he ran to her, said "sorry" and bit down hard, not meaning to.
"Ouch" she flinched, yet she was happy that her brother wasn't suffering any longer. After a little bit, she said "Ok that's enough." And pushed him off. He was sitting on the floor, licking the blood from the corners of his mouth, "Now you have to change shirts," his sister groaned. As comet was walking to his room His sister grabbed her brother's bag and put it at the door of their gothic mansion. When her brother said that he could faintly hear the bus coming up the secluded road she yelled to him.
"Be careful and watch yourself!" but he was already out the door and walking down their long driveway in the rain, not worried about what other kids would think when they saw him in his ACDC tee-shirt, ripped skinny jeans and converses, all in his favorite color, black.
