Lynn groaned as she woke up, 'stupid headache' Lynn thought as sudden yelling fully jolted her out of bed. 'Another sibling fight' Lynn finally got up and started her day. Lynn pulled on a blue hoodie with her jeans and convers. Just like everyday.
She heard the stomps of her roommate as he ran up the stairs. Lincoln burst in the room, already dressed in his Letterman's jacket and usual orange shirt and jeans. Lincoln yelled "Wazzup, tranny!"
Lynn growled "Hey! I could have been getting ready."
Lincoln scoffed, "Not like I'll see something. You're still a guy."
Lynn responded "I'm a girl now, Lincoln." Lynn crossed her arms.
Lincoln just smacked her back, "Whatever, tranny." Lincoln ran out of the room, probably to eat breakfast. Lynn wondered how he managed to eat so much. 'Well, he is a pig after all.'
Lynn snickered and got her stuff together. She sighed as she looked at her secret stash and subconsciously grabbed a bottle beer. 'I do need a drink' Lynn put it in her black string backpack and walked out her bedroom door.
As she walked into the hallway Leni and Lola spotted her. 'Oh no' Lynn thought as her sisters came closer. Lola had a grimace, probably cuz she just woke up, 'she's probably going to insult my outfit again'.
Lola looked her up and down and spoke, "Lynn, you look like a mess. At least dress up."
Leni agreed, "You should wear a skirt. Let us give you some style."
"Ooh, let us give you a make-over!" Lola squealed.
Lynn pushed them away as she held her head in her hand. "As much as I'd love to hang out and find style, I'm busy. Plus, I'm only going to the park." Lynn walked past them before they could ask once more.
As Lynn walked down the stairs she could hear her mom stomping around. Mrs Loud spotted Lynn, "Lynn! There you are, kiddo." Lynn made note of how pained her mom looked to say 'kiddo' instead of something else. "Hey, where are you going? Don't you want breakfast?"
Lynn rolled her eyes, "I'm going to the park, and I'm not hungry now. I don't really eat breakfast anymore anyway, I'll just eat lunch later."
Before Lynn could leave, Mrs Loud stopped her. "You can't go, not without an umbrella. It might rain." Her mom smiled at her and handed her a navy blue umbrella. Lynn looked at the umbrella in her hands blankly and walked out the door.
Lynn took her time walking as she tuned out the world. She twirled the umbrella as she made her way through the park. Eventually she found a secluded bench near the forest. She thought that she heard someone but when she looked it was just a tipped over trash can close to the bench. 'Just the wind I guess.' Lynn pulled out the bottle from her bag and began to drink from it. She heard some rustling from the forest but brushed it off.
Lynn was halfway finished with the bottle when she heard a voice from the forest. She stood up and peered into the forest and that's when she saw it. One big glowing golden eye in the darkness. Lynn thought it was an animals eye, perhaps a wolf. Lynn was surprised when the body belonging to the eye wasn't a wolf.
From the darkness emerged a girl. The girl had wild black hair with bangs that covered one eye, her fair skin covered in scares. She wore ratty shorts and old bandages on her chest. She was on all fours, breathing heavily. Lynn was taken back by her. "I thought you were a wolf but you are just a human!" Lynn blurted.
Lynn mentally smacked herself for saying that. The girl looked at her confused for a moment until she spoke up. "I'm not a wolf, nor a human. I'm a squirrel."
"So, you're a squirrel girl?" Lynn bit back a laugh at how ridiculous and dumb she sounded.
The girl didn't seem to see the hilarity of the situation and simply responded. "Yes."
"Um, what's your name, squirrel girl?" Lynn put her hand over her mouth to stop herself from laughing at the awkwardness.
"My name is Windy Leaves Pecana, just call me Wendy." Wendy was still on all fours.
Lynn nodded quickly, "My name is Lynn Loud Jr."
Wendy looked confused, "But, how could you be a junior if you're a girl?" Wendy turned her head to the side. "And what is this bottle?" The girl pointed to Lynn's half empty bottle.
Lynn chuckled, "You see, I used to be a boy but now I'm a girl. And that bottle is alcohol. Let me ask you a question of my own. How old are you?"
Wendy seemed to study the beer bottle as she picked it up. She took a swig, "Oh, beer! My uncle Gary, he's a bear by the way, he finds some sometimes and lets me have a little. I'm 13 years old by the way."
Lynn looked at her surprised, "You aren't gonna question me being trans?"
Wendy deadpanned at her, "You're not gonna question me having a bear for an uncle?"
Lynn nodded, "I'm 13 too."
Wendy nodded just as a van came barreling toward them and came to a stop. Lynn remained straight faced while Wendy looked terrified.
"Oh, don't be worried, it's just my family." Lynn said.
To be continued.
