Sammy stood up, and grabbed your hand. Oo's emitted from Josh and Jake as they watched Sam's face turn bright red. You had no issues holding Sammy's hand, though, so him turning red only added to the thrill of playing another round.
"I'll kick your ass this time, [Y/N]," he said, as he readied the balls, "You break?"
"Sure, I'll break." you pulled your arm back and drew the stick. Josh, Jake, and Danny watched on, and continued their playful banter with Sammy about grabbing your hand. You watched Sammy, and he watched you back. You both were staring at each other.
"Well," Josh said, laughing, "We're waiting. Don't forget you've got an audience."
So you hit the cue ball, and sent the other balls array, clacking with each hit. Your luck was complete garbage- you couldn't even manage getting a ball close to a hole. Sammy chuckled, and snuck up behind you.
"Want me to let you try that again?" he asked.
"Nah," you said, "I'm fine with that." You looked over your shoulder to face him, and holy shit was he a view. You both locked eyes, and you watched as his eyes flickered to look at your face and admire your features.
"Alright," he said, "Time to kick ass." He gracefully grabbed the stick from you, instead of using his own, and hit the cue ball. He got a few balls in, signifying again that he had stripes, and you, wholes. You gaped in awe at him, studying his form. Shamelessly, you snuck in a glance at his body. His skin shined under the sim bar lights, and a few stray damp pieces of hair hung in front of his face; he was stunning.
The stick tapped the ground as he handed it back to you. You could've sworn he had caught you staring, so you tried to play it as cool as you could. You readied your arm, then:
"We gotta go," Danny interrupted, "Bar's closing."
"Damn! Well, it was nice meeting you, [Y/N]!" Josh said, "Too bad you can't come back to our hotel with us."
"Why can't [she/they/he]?" Sammy asked. "Besides, I gotta win a game of something! Might as well play cards or something."
"I live just a few minutes away," you said, "It's no trouble, I can just go."
"No!" Sammy argued, "Come on, no one's saying no. Right, guys?"
Everyone agreed, and you followed them out. Sammy stayed near you while the others ventured ahead.
"You can go home, if you'd rather. I don't want you to feel pressured." Sammy said to you, after a moment of silence.
"Me? I'd rather you guys be comfortable."
"Eh, I'm pretty comfortable," he said sweetly, "I think Josh is too drunk to care, Jake doesn't care either way, and Danny is probably just gonna sit by the window and dabble."
"If you insist." you replied, and Sammy smiled at you.
When you reached their hotel, and their room, you weren't shocked to see that they had rented an expensive suite. However, you were shocked to see that the hotel suite was set up like a small apartment. Each person had "rooms" with a bed. The bathroom was shared, as well as a small makeshift kitchen with a microwave, mini-fridge, and complimentary wine crate that the boys had replaced all the bottles of wine with vodka, Coronas, and canned beers. Sammy gestured you inside before him, and shut the door behind the group.
"Welcome to our abode!" Josh said extravagantly and gestured to the entire room joyously for you. Jake and Danny smiled at you, and Danny nudged Sammy. The two boys went to Sammy's room, and talked for a few minutes while you faced the twins.
"So, [Y/N]," Josh said, and Jake looked concerned about what he was going to say next, "Are you a Jake [person/girl/boy]?"
Jake turned beet red, and laughed along with you and Josh. You didn't answer.
"I think [he's/she's/they're] a Josh [girl/boy/person], Josh."
Danny and Sammy returned, and Sammy sat next to you almost immediately. Danny asked what he had missed, but Josh and Jake pretended to be asking about something else.
"What were you two talking about that I couldn't hear?" Josh asked, and Danny shook his hand under his neck to signify for Josh to shut up. Sammy tapped your shoulder and curled his finger toward him to lure you to his room. Did something happen?
You followed him quietly, obediently, to his makeshift bedroom. He patted the bed so you could sit, and grabbed a small keyboard from the side of the bed. Sammy dabbled with the keys and played small snippets of the songs that you heard at the concert.
"Is everything okay?" you asked, worried that maybe he had had too much to drink.
"Yeah," he said, nodding, "I just wanted to spend some more time with you away from the others. Josh can be quite a handful when he's drinking so, I figured I'd offer you a break from the energy."
"Oh," you grew more concerned, "Okay, yeah. Peace and quiet is nice."
"I agree," he said quietly, "Well, sort of. I like quiet when it is calmly interrupted with the sound of music."
You nodded. He started to play "Heat Above", and you swayed to the rhythm.
"You like this one?" he asked, turning the volume on his keyboard up just a tad.
"Yeah, I like to play it in my car with the windows all down," you said, giggling to yourself, "If I had a convertible I'd drive with the top down to it."
"Motorcycles are better," he said, "For that reason. Nothing beats the thrill of a good ride." You couldn't disagree, but you hadn't ridden a motorcycle in a very long time.
Sammy started to hum the lyrics of the song, and you quietly joined him. He raised his eyebrows, licked his lips before biting down on the bottom one, and then smiled at you.
"Sing it," he said to you, "If you want, but I think it'd be cool."
"Believe me when I say if you think Josh is too much right now, you definitely don't want to experience my singing." He shrugged.
"I think it'd be cool," he said, "I have an idea anyway. Try it."
You didn't want to argue with him, so you did. And as you started to sing, he began to sing with you; the two of you began to harmonize to the song, and you immediately felt whisked away. No one else in the entire world mattered, and the moment felt like the world had stopped just for you two for just a moment.
