SOME EXTRAS!
Okay so honestly this cover was made for a contest, which the host later dropped and after coming back from a long hiatus changed the entire prompt. Which was kinda unfortunate since I was almost done by then and it felt bad to just delete the draft and call it a day, since I did work hard on this one.
About the contest, idk why the host did that...the concept was really amazing in my opinion, but yes, still it didn't get much participants sadly. That could be the reason for this whole situation.

-- DESCRIPTION --
The concept was about editing an urban legend and I chose infamous Alaskan Triangle for my edit.
[NOTE: The 'Alaskan Triangle', an area between Utqiagvik, Anchorage, and Juneau, is comprised of vast boreal forests, barren tundra, and icy peaks. In the past four decades, people have gone missing from the region at a rate of about 4 from every 1000 individuals, two times the national average. Hundreds of coordinated search-and-rescue missions take place every year to find missing residents, hikers, tourists, and airplane passengers, often to no avail.]
Out of all the stories, the one that I used here is about the vanishing aircrafts. A report from 1986 that garnered some attention and made to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from a Japanese cargo flight provides the basis for one extraterrestrial theory. Allegedly, Japan Air Lines Flight 1628 encountered three unidentified aerial phenomena above the expanse. The pilot reportedly thought the craft were military and paid them no mind. Moments later he realized that the objects were keeping pace and moving erratically around his own jet. Over the next 50 minutes, the strange aircraft shadowed Flight 1628's every move while emitting bursts of blinding lights.
I tried to recreate this entire scenario in the cover. The jets or the objects following our main Japanese military aircraft, through the mountains and the forest regions of the Alaskan Triangle. Tho I missed out the blinding lights part, that too intentionally bcuz of the background images I used, I tried to portray the rest as much as possible. Which's why I even used pictures of Alaskan mountains, forests and plains.

Something really unique for me and yes the amount of research I had to do made me curse myself for days. Tho I would say that I chose my urban legend way faster than my graphic resources, cuz that part is real pain in arse.
And then I had to change resources twice and sketch out different scenarios as I wasn't able to work on urban legends I chose before this one. I still can't believe that I could complete this one...it was a mess.
Worst part is probably the typography here...I had something else in mind which didn't work out well honestly so ended up with something light and simple.
Anyways- I'll stop my pep talk here today. The dj playing in my neighbourhood probably killed half of my brain cells and I'm feeling dead already. Perks of staying in my country during festive season hahaha T.T
So, I'll go take some rest and you guys do the same too if you've nothing important to do.
Also, thank you so so much for all the love and support that you guys showed to my Graphic Tips and Rants book! I'll try to update it more frequently ;)
Byeeee! Take care guys!
