My thoughts spun in tornado of questions as I thought back to the notes Percy had passed me earlier. He was right, these people - if they even were that - were a little too much like monsters. Especially ones under command of a higher power who could corral them into orders. The last time we had seen a monster this analytical it had been under the command of the Giants waiting in the shadows to take us out.

Were they the new big bad? Or were the the preface before we were stuck in another all out war? With the intellect the seeming blond leader of their group was possessing I would say she was either the mastermind, or the general.

She was obviously the ringleader, her brown eyes and warm facial features starkly contrasted everyone else. Then there was everyone else. All sharp jaws, cut and delicate cheekbones. Not to mention the strikingly varied shades of blue that surrounded their pupils. They, while physically stunning, had an aura of subtle, yet potent, power almost glowing around them. One we have never seen before, one unlike anything from a god, demigod, or even monster. And we needed to find out- fast

Threats were eliminated quickly and effortlessly in the demigod world. Because the foes simply disintegrated, no mess, no true crimes. And that might make us sound like criminals, crazy maybe, but it what we trained for. And if we had to look like, and sometimes feel like, villains- so be it.

Now, we just needed to figure out if these new threats were going to disintegrate like our normal monsters, or if they were a new type of evil we would have to see bleed out in an alleyway.
