Anika POV:
I was really excited to find out who got selected for the Triwizard tournament. I had a bet going with Ellen over who got in. I was positive that Angelina Johnson was going to be the Hogwarts champion, whereas Ellen was rooting for Cedric Diggory. I was not going to lose 15 galleons on this bet.
Finally, the announcement came.
"Sit down please." Dumbledore addressed the crowd. "Now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champion selection!"
Dumbledore dimmed the torches around the room and approached the Goblet. The blue flame turned a scarlet red as a piece of paper flew out of the top.
"The Durmstrang champion is... Viktor Krum!" The crowd cheered and I let out a groan, earning a few stares from around me. There was no way this pile of crap got into the tournament. His headmaster probably cast a spell on the goblet. The room quieted down again.
The flame went red again and Dumbledore caught a fan-like piece of paper. "The champion from Beauxbatons... Fleur Delacour!" This time I clapped with the crowd. Again the room silenced for the final reading, the one I was the most eager for.
Once again a piece of paper flew out of the flame into Dumbledore's hand and I nearly died from anticipation. "The Hogwarts champion... Cedric Diggory!"
Ellen shot me a look halfway between a grin and a smirk. The room around me erupted into cheers and clapping, all while I banged my head against the table.
"Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end only one will go down in history, only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory! The Triwizard Cup!" The cover was revealed and everyone saw the trophy glowing in all its glory.
But the goblet began to glow red again and another name shot out of the cup.
"Harry Potter," Dumbledore said quietly. "Harry Potter!"
Across from me, Harry sat down while Paige glared daggers at him.
"HARRY POTTER!" Dumbledore boomed across the hall. Hermione shoved Harry forward. He approached Dumbledore who looks furious. As he walked towards the front people called out to him.
"He's a cheat!" Someone shouted.
"He's not even seventeen yet!" Another person yelled.
I looked at my friends who couldn't believe their eyes.

The next day I was helping Neville look for gillyweed in the lake, while Harry sat on the bank reading a book on the fascinating herb. Paige was ignoring me for some reason, but I was vibing Neville and Harry so it wasn't half bad I guess.
"Amazing. Amazing!" Neville said in wonder moving through the knee-deep water to show me his discovery.
"I know! I can't believe we actually found Gillyweed!" I exclaimed showing him mine.
"You two are perfect for each other," Harry muttered making us both blush.
"Aha, right," Neville said softly, I gave him a small smile.
"Magical water plants of the Highland Lochs?" Harry questioned us, looking up from the book he was reading.
"Moody gave it to me. The day we had tea." Neville told him.
"It's quite interesting," I added.
Suddenly there was a rustling in the bush, I looked up to see Hermione, Ron, Paige, and Ginny walking in our direction. Neville waved to them. Hermione whispered something into Ron's ear and he said something back that I didn't catch. Hermione approached us.
"Ronald would like me to tell you that Seamus told him that Dean was told by Parvati that Hagrid was looking for you." She told Harry.
"Is that right? Well... what?" Harry asked confused.
"Uhh..." She turned back to Ron who whispered something and Paige grabbed her arm and said something as well. Hermione walked back over to us.
"Dean was told by Parvati that... please don't make me say it again. Hagrid's looking for you. Oh and Anika, Paige told you to stay away from her because you're an "Untrustworthy slug who can't be trusted with the identity of her crushes ever again"." She said again. I looked at her with shock before turning to Paige who was refusing to make eye contact with me. Harry looked just as uncomfortable.
"Well you can tell Paige-" I began, anger seeping out of me.
"I'm NOT an owl!" She yelled at us before storming off with Ron, Paige, and Ginny.
Harry gathered his things and began walking towards Hagrid's hut. Neville gave me a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry that happened, you're not an untrustworthy slug, you know. You're one of the most incredible people I've ever met." He said gently, not wanting to provoke me any further.
"Thank you, Neville. You always know what to say at the moment." I gave him a small smile before going back to gillyweed hunting.
