Draco's P.O.V.

A month has passed... one month and twenty-five days. When---will---my---mate---turn---eight---teen---

"Are you done?"

I banged my head on the desk for the last time before looking up. Blaise was there, sitting next to me. We were in the library, learning more about dragons and creature inheritances to pass the time. Blaise was more interested in studying books about Ancient Runes, so he talked about Elder Futhark and something about Nauthiz and Inguz. It was almost midnight, and that woefully reminded of my state. Still, Blaise is right. I need to stop being overdramatic.

"Sorry, I'm just tired."

"How about we turn in for the night?" he offered.

"Yes, thank you." We got up and returned the books to the shelves. I felt bad for not listening to him, so I said, "Tell me more about Nauthiz again."

"Oh, Nauthiz means need or distress, as well as the determination to survive.

It also reminds us that there is something or someone missing in our life, and we need to overcome obstacles to get them---most obstacles are self-imposed. I don't know, mate, it has a lot of meanings. And if you must know," he nudged me while wiggling his eyebrows. "It also entails sensual desire."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Right. And what about Inguz?"

"It's a rune for male fertility," he shrugged.

"Wait, what now?"

"It also means personal development, growth, success, love, family... it's basically a rest stage or a time of relief, but there's a sacrifice involved. It means you have to let go of something before getting that blissful peace. Of course, I'm not an expert when it comes to runes. I'm just interpreting them unprofessionally."

"Uh-huh."

"Draco, I recited all the runes of the Elder Futhark earlier. Is there a reason why these particular runes interest you?"

"They're the only ones I heard," I truthfully said.

He gave me a mischievous grin. "Did you know that Ancient Runes can sometimes be used for Divination?"

"Sorry, what?"

"Oh-ho-ho, I can already see your future. You're going to love it!" He ran ahead of me, smirking.

"What? Blaise, tell me more!"

"Nope, nope, you're going to have to find out for yourself!" He grabbed his box of floo powder on the mantle.

"Blaise, get back here and tell me everything."

"I already did. Zabini Family Estate!"

"No, wait!" There was a roar of emerald flames and he disappeared. "Shit!"

After muttering more curse words, I went back to the Runes section and searched for Nauthiz and Inguz.

Harry's P.O.V.

I opened the freezer and took out a pint of salted caramel ice cream. I bought it the other day to treat myself. I sat on the countertop and looked at the clock... ten minutes before midnight, and ten minutes before my birthday.

I silently ate my ice cream as I watched the hands move and listened to the clock's ticking. Mrs. Black said I might get my creature inheritance tonight because I already conjured a Patronus in the past. I haven't done research about it because I doubt it would happen.

Still... I was there when Ron and Hermione experienced theirs. We were sleeping in the tent on Ron's birthday, and I woke up to the sound of screaming. I watched in horror as my friends transformed while writhing in agony. I heard bones crunching, and saw their skin stretch like rubber. Ron seemed to whimper like a wounded dog, and Hermione was squealing in pain.
