-
'i know' a voice behind me makes me choke on my stomach.
-
I whip around, 'holy shit!'
-
'easy there tiger.' a boy- who seems about my age- says. He has light brown hair with a few golden streaks. about 6'2, and wears a tight black shirt which highlights his biceps. ;)
-
'sorry you just scared me and-
wait a minute, why are you on my porch? how did you get in? my mind is full of questions. i start to pace back and fourth.
-
'your porch? what... ugh don't tell me we're-'  Then it hits us.
-
'roommates.' we say at the same time, both in irritation.
-
'i- i thought opposite genders weren't allowed to share a cabin?' i ask, tripping over my words.
-
'well clearly we were wrong. I'm Nate Jones by the way.' he gestures his hand toward me.
-
i reluctantly shake his hand, 'not that it's any of your business... I'm Erica.'
-
'okay, my bad but, er- does Erica have a last name or is that confidential' Nate chuckles.
-
'Perez.'
-
Nate: 'well i guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other this summer Perez.'
he stands up and goes back into the main cabin.
-
Erica: 'great.' one things for sure. this will be interesting.

Just then, one of the counselors announces over a megaphone that all campers have to report to the dining hall for orientation. I walk into the room to see Nate laying on his bed scrolling through his phone.
-
'come on.' i say and Nate follows me out of the cabin like a puppy.
