18.

Revenge

Lex & Amon.

Amon stood by the cliff overlooking his territory, rather vampire territory, his palms were placed firmly on the ground as he channelled energy through the blood mirrors underneath his palms. "Here they come." The vampire mumbled as he the blood expanded and exploded revealing two figures when the blood dissipated. "You!" Lena hissed as she looked at the two mystics that had summoned them through her blood.

"I'm guessing you're looking for revenge." Kev called out as his form finally appeared from the shadows. "You could call it that." Lex replied as he stood next to Amon. "You should've been smarter." The male witch called out as his fist hit the ground and it shattered going toward the wolf and vampire, Amon flipped into the air as Lex ran full speed toward Lena, once he was close he swiped his claws at the girl who retaliated with a short blade that shattered on impact, the wolf smirked as in a split second he changed his attack stance and kicked the girl's abdomen sending her falling toward the jaggered rocks below.

The wolf followed but Lena was nowhere to be found so he caught himself and stood on the mountainside horizontally waiting for the witch to attack, and she didn't disappoint, Lena appeared in a burst of green smoke as thousands of vines sprouted from the ground and attacked Lex, the wolf howled out creating a sonic screech and the vines were shattered instantly, having seen her spell be shattered so easily Lena changed tactic but was too late as a fist connected with her face, she was supposed to be thrown away but Lex caught her leg dragging her back and slamming her into the rocks, a screech of pain tore from her throat but this was just the beginning.

Up above Kev wasn't doing so well either, Amon had him pinned to the ground in a headlock, Kev raised his hand and shot an energy beam toward Amon's face to get free, the vampire let go and moved out of the way to avoid another attack, Kev waved his hands and pieces of earth were raised from the ground and were shot like bullets toward Amon, the vampire smirked as he cut down each rock with a blade made of his blood, Amon got faster and faster because knowing how witches fought there was another spell on the way, and he was right, clouds had gathered in the sky and Kev let them rain lightning on Amon, the vampire shielded himself with a blood sphere,  it held up but when the assault was over it had cracks, once the sphere was done Amon was blocking an uppercut, he vanished in a burst of crimson smoke and appeared behind Kev punching his back several times, he further created a blood shard and impaled the witch with it. "Blood boil." Amon whispered as Kev screamed at the top of his lungs as his blood boiled beneath his skin, with a kick that caused a sickening crunch to the witch, Kev was thrown away toward trees that impaled him further. "You shouldn't have made me your enemy." Amon whispered as he lunged for the witch yet again.

Lex stood with battered clothes stained with blood from the several weapons that he had pulled out of his body, the wolf coughed out green blood as his body healed completely. "How?" Lena questioned as she held on to her broken arm which was slowly healing. "My nephew thanks to his very impressive teacher found a way to counter your poison, any and all of it." Lex replied as his bones began to crack and in one loud howl a giant wolf stood on its hind legs, a glowing red will coated every part of it  and it terrified his opponent, in a burst of speed Lex appeared by Lena and clawed open her arm, the witch in retaliation opened her mouth and green ash burst out. "Ignugus." She commanded and the ash exploded causing a quacke, the fire eventually dissipated and Lena was smiling knowing she had put a head on attack on the wolf, but in between the flames Lex's red will flared as a wolf bigger than a mountain made of that will protected him, when it vanished Lex was already attacking the witch. Lena couldn't keep up, as blow after blow she received from the wolf, by his jaws Lex created a sphere of swirling red energy, he shut his jaws for a minute then released a beam of heavy concentrated energy toward Lena that exploded on impact, the witch screamed yet again, as she was torn apart.

When the attack from Lex finally calmed down Lena staggered to her feet and held out her hand, this stopped Lex in his tracks. "It didn't have to come to this, but its you or me." Lena called out as vines sprouted from the ground and tried to impale Lex, seeing as they wouldn't penetrate she tried  a different tactic, strangle him, Lex concentrated on another attack whilst the witch tried to kill him, he knew the hold on him wouldn't last, she wasn't Roman, when the magic holding him began to wane the wolf made its move. Lex roared loudly repelling the magic and moving at sonic speed to attack Lena, when he was close enough he impaled her with a spear made of his will and attached four orbs to her body, the witch knew what would happen if they exploded and they did, Lena was yet again torn apart.

An explosion of red and blue rocked their battlefield as Kev slowly got to his feet with both arms broken, Amon stood to his feet whilst grabbing his arm and reattaching it to his body, he lunged for Kev who held out his hand and caused malice to overtake the vampire's mind, Amon hissed in pain, grunted out further as the agony increased, the pendant around his neck gleamed a bright grey as the malice was shot back toward its caster. "How?" Kev questioned as the vampire stood in front of her. "Thanks to a very sneaky hybrid, my flower made me a pendant that could repel that nasty spell of yours." Amon explained as he punched right into Kev's ribcage, blood dripped down the witch's mouth as he looked into Amon's eyes, the vampire moved faster than before removing his hand an landing an uppercut on Kev, the assault didn't stop as Amon back flipped, shifted in the air to deliver a roundhouse kick to Kev, whilst the witch was in the air Amon commanded the blood spilt on the battleground, it attached itself to the witch and as Kev feared it exploded, just as agony encased him entirely the explosion of red below caught his eye, Amon was by his side when the explosion died off and created another blade of blood impaling Kev with it, the witch grunted in pain before vanishing.

Lex was standing above Lena who barely clung to life. "Remember how you made the poison to kill me." The wolf exclaimed as his claws penetrated the witch's neck, Lex felt him before he actually appeared and veered right to avoid the jaggered rocks summoned by Kev, when the witch finally appeared he ran to his lover. "Lena, Lena wake up." He begged as Lex and Amon now stood a distance from them with no remorse in their eyes. "You'll pay for this." Kev called out as his skin changed and symbols were littered on it, in a minute the boy's magic burst out like a bomb destroying everything, Amon vanished into his blood mirrors, and the wolf will that protected Lex before protected him again, his ultimate defence. When it was over Amon and Lex stood where there once were only it was barren around them, Lex was the first to move as his claws ripped through Kev's barely conscious body and Amon manipulated the blood spilt to create a sharp spear that went through Lena's heart. "Die for your ire." Amon hissed as Lena took one last breath.

"No!" Kev yelled as he appeared by Lena's side but it was already done, the girl was gone. "And they said we weren't prepared."

"No you can't die, you just can't leave me." Kev begged as he appeared in his home, noone was there, it was just him and his dead love. "Please don't go." The witch begged as the blood spear in Lena's heart faded away like steam, Kev knew this was their fault, they were the ones that started this war but they were sure they could fight it and win but now he wasn't sure, they had overestimated themselves and thought the vampires and wolves were too dense and stupid to actually have a real chance.

Of course they would be smart, they had challenged a wolf whose mate was their arch enemy and a vampire who loved another witch in the same coven, they should've known it was doomed from the beginning but maybe he could save her, through yet another witch in that coven, yes a life for a life. So Kev laid Lena's body on the ground  and placed a black candle at the top of her head. "Dos amuir phetina mortemir aregis." He cast the spell and the smoke from the candle began to move and wrap around Lena's body. "I will have you back my love, even if I have to tear the veil to get to you." The witch vowed as finally his body out and he fell.
