Devil. Satan. Ruler of Hell. The Evil One. That was how anyone in their right mind would describe the devil once being asked. And that she was.
Or at least that was the case if you were listening to the stereotype that men dressed in long robes spoke of. Instead, the devil wasn't just a red man with horns and a tail, cloven hooves and a pitchfork. In fact, she was anything but.
She was a lonely, broken soul who allowed her disobedience to dominate her, leading to her becoming the thing she's so well known for. The devil. Queen of all things evil.
Lucifer Morningstar. That's what she decided to call herself after she was banished to hell for the rest of time, becoming the queen of her own palace.
God, her holy father, had decided he couldn't keep control of his fallen angel, and so banished her instead. That seemed to be the easiest option rather than going through the trouble to seek out the actual reason his daughter was acting out. It was coming to her though, and she knew it the second she waged the war with her father in hopes to grasp his attention, and though she knew the consequences she went through with it.
If there was anything about Lucifer that was worth taking note of, it was that she never backed down, no matter the threat, all due to her bitter stubbornness. It wasn't a concern in her mind but in her fathers, he knew it could he the very thing that ruined him and his life he'd spent so long creating.
When Lucifer was in her youth, she wondered why she experienced things differently to her plenty bunch of siblings - why she expressed her emotions differently, why she felt she was trapped in her own little bubble she wasn't capable of escaping no matter how hard she tried. Her father hadn't taken the time out of his day to confide with his daughter when she needed it most, making her slowly drive herself into a pit of loathing and anger.
It became more apparent as she got older that with her father being God, he didn't have little to no time with her and that alone effected her in more ways than she knew possible. He was physically there everyday while she lived with him, but only that, it was as if he existed but not for the sake of his daughter.
Her rebellion wasn't at all what she thought it was going to be. Planning small things in her head at first eventually lead to a battle. A battle against a much too powerful force for her, one she knew she couldn't possibly win yet went along with it. That was her flaw, her fatal flaw.
It began with ignoring instructions to making them herself. And it went from making instructions herself to controlling every aspect of her life the way she only ever dreamed of, even if it meant going against everything she had been taught from a young age to be.
Her father ignored it for as long as he possible could without giving too damaging consequences, only he couldn't quite ignore a war being waged against him by his own child. It hurt her father to see the plot his daughter was planting against him, and Lucifer knew this. Yet she continued to go through with her plans. Only then did Lucifer get the attention she had craved for so long, only for it to be diminished as she was banished to hell.
The whole of silver city had the right to voice their opinion of whether Lucifer should stay in heaven to be offered the second chance some though she deserved, or to banish her to her own designed fate which most were more fond of. Lucifer knew the outcome even before it was revealed to her, but she compelled herself to ignore what her mind was telling her and instead believed though her heart, hoping her many siblings would understand why she did what she did, yet deep down she knew they wouldn't have a clue considering they only ever went along with the mistreatment instead of standing up against it.
The result of the vote was made abundantly clear as Luci soon after became the queen of hell. Although she tried her hardest not to, she felt a sense of betrayal and not from who she'd expected, but by her own siblings who had felt and gone through the exact same as she, only didn't make it as known. One thing they didn't understand about the whole situation is that Lucifer wasn't just rebelling only for herself, but because she knew her siblings were going through the same treatment as she was.
It didn't matter anymore, though, because now she lived a life where she couldn't be told what to do, and in fact, she made her own rules freely. She convinced herself that she'd never been more happy with the freedom she was given, and instead of thinking it as a punishment, she took it as a gift.
Her life, which felt once incomplete, finally felt complete for plenty of years, she had her demon friends who stuck by her side, filled with loyalty, much better than her family ever did. Finally feeling her life was complete for eternity, she couldn't have been more wrong.
