As of recent discoveries I've learnt that klaus has taken Hayley to live with him someplace where his siblings aren't near, I was intrigued to say the least at this news, me and Klaus have hardly spoken a word to each other after...recent events, it's not that I didn't want to either. It's just that we haven't had a chance to be alone.
As of now I was sat around a table which included of Marcel, Hayley, and some other people I didn't care to learn the names of. I was seated next to Klaus, his orders, sat opposite Marcel who strangely wouldn't dare look at me.
Klaus stood up with a wine glass in his hand, clearly ready to give a speech.
"Let us begin with a toast, to our shared gift, immortality. After 1,000 years one might expect for life to be less keenly felt for it beauties and it's sorrows to diminish with time, but as vampires we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine", he then called over some compulsion ridden humans over to the table, "insatiable need, exquisite pain".
We all watched as the humans grabbed a knife, slicing both wrists, allowing blood to fall into the cups on either side of them. By we I mean them, I was staring into thin air, clueless of what to think of anymore.
"Our victories and our defeats. to my city, to my home again. May the blood never cease to flow" Klaus said, lifting his glass.
"And the party never end", Marcel said, also lifting his. I somehow doubted him with no reason, he looked like he was putting on an act, a façade.
"To New Orleans", Diego put his glass in the air, everyone else but me and Hayley following. Something about all these people suddenly agreeing with klaus was off, something was going to go down - I could tell.
I rested my head on my knee that was pulled up on the chair, shutting my eyes, wishing I was in bed rather than at a blood themed dinner party.
"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated. No. My intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have, what Marcel in fact, took and built into this. A true community of vampires" Klaus said.
Diego lifted both his hands, pointing at both me and Hayley. I didn't react with anything, just looked to klaus.
"What about those two?" Diego asks, I continue to look at Klaus, tilting my head as I awaited his reply.
"Had you let me finish Diego, you would know that there is, of course, a few further matters I would like to address. starting with Hayley, as many of you know the girl is carrying my child" Klaus begins, walking towards Hayley, "consequently, I trust you will all pay her the appropriate respect".
