Saint's pov:

"Isn't their progress a little too fast?" Zee muttered.

I nodded in agreement.

"That strength and speed isn't something a normal human can achieve even if they train for their whole lives."

"Then what's going on? They're definitely humans. Their scents say so." He sat down on the couch next to me.

"I don't know either." I sighed.

While it's great that they're getting so much stronger in such a short span of time, it's still really abnormal.

They're definitely humans but their abilities seem to say otherwise.

Just what is going on here?

They've never had superhuman abilities in any of their past lives...

Why do they have them now all of a sudden?

We both perked up when we sensed a presence we haven't sensed in a long time.

A figure slowly appeared in front of us.

"What's with the sudden visit?" I asked when she materialized completely.

She smiled warmly while looking at us in turns.

"You have met your mates. And I'm sure you have questions about them."

"So it's heaven's doing?" Zee asked.

She chuckled.

"Child. God loves all his creations. Human or not. He wishes happiness on all."

"That's quite an ironic thing to hear after the last 3 experiences," I mumbled.

"That's because you didn't try to work your relationship the right way." She sighed.

We blinked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"A relationship doesn't work one-way child. It works both ways. You cannot expect everything to go well if you just wrap them up in your arms and try to protect them without communicating with them. They're also living people. They have their own thoughts. You cannot lock them up in cages their whole lives. You need to let them out and live their lives." She explained.

I thought back to their last 3 lives.

After the first time, we tried to keep them locked up in our home to keep anyone from getting to them.

They got really angry and distanced themselves from us.

They said they understood our fear after we explained why we locked them up but they still weren't happy about us taking away their freedom.

"Your mates are not normal humans. They are gifted ones. They are not supposed to be protected and kept locked up. They're supposed to stand beside you and fight with you. You need to let them fight for your happiness just like how you fought for their safety." She added.

"Are they human at all? Those physical abilities are definitely not human." I asked.

"God is all-knowing, child. He knows your fate even before you are born. And you two have a path of thorns ahead of you. So he gave you strong mates who can stand beside you and support you through that path. They are human. But they're extraordinary because they were born for you." She answered.

We blinked profusely.

"You mean the last 3 times even..." Zee spoke up.

She sighed and nodded.
