Pavel's pov:

"They're completely different from the folklore we've read and heard about..." I muttered under my breath as I read through the book I was holding.

"Yup. After reading these, the things we've heard and read sound so stupid." Joong chuckled.

I also chuckled and nodded in agreement.

"Most of these books are from the 17th century. And yet all the pages are intact and none of them are damaged. They've all been really well taken care of." I smiled.

"Yeah. None of the books here are damaged. They must love books." Joong added.

I nodded again.

I stretched my back and arms.

I took my phone and looked at the time.

We've been holed up in here for 3 hours already.

"They trust a lot to let us find out their weaknesses even." He tilted his head.

"They did say we're their mates so I guess that's why." I rubbed my stiff neck.

He nodded in agreement.

"And it's not like we can do anything to them even if we tried. They're much stronger and faster." I added.

"True..." He sat back in his chair.

As if on cue, the door opened and they came in.

Their expressions were blank as usual.

"Have you found out anything new?" Zee asked.

We nodded.

"Most of the things we heard and read are downright false and not even inaccurate apparently. So most of the things in the books here are very new for us." I said.

"Humans love to make up stories and spread false news. So it's not surprising." Saint took the book that was in front of me.

"We're also... Humans you know?" Joong said slowly.

"That you are." Zee nodded.

"There are different kinds of humans. I'm sure you've seen many types." Saint straightened up.

We blinked.

"You looked into us huh?" I asked.

They nodded.

And completely honest even.

"You're too weak." Zee crossed his arms.

We looked at him.

"We know. It's not like we had much of a choice regarding the matter." Joong.

"Yes, we know you didn't. And that is why from now on, you'll be training with us." Saint replied.

We blinked surprised.

"Train?" I asked.

They nodded.

"We don't want our mates to be weaklings. So we'll be training you on how to defend yourselves and use weapons effectively."

That first sentence stung a bit but I couldn't deny that it's true so I kept quiet.

"Using weapons is illegal though," Joong spoke up.

"That's not something we care about. You just need to focus on keeping yourselves safe." Saint answered.

We slowly nodded.

They won't be giving us a choice obviously.

"You'll be restarting your lives from now on. There's no place for doubt and hatred in you from now on. Keep that in mind." Zee added before they sat down beside us and started reading some books that were on the table.
