Chapter 2
Last Resort

There was bright light shining down on a pale girl The girl slowly began to sit up to see the bandages...

It wasn't the first time she had seen the lights but it was the first time she had put herself there. She wanted to die, plain and simple. No one could hurt her if she died.

The nurses were kind but when they were alone they shook their heads. "Poor Ms. Lockser.. The demons are eating away at her.. That poor girl.. " The girl smiled up kindly at the nurses thanking them kindly. "How could a girl like that..?.. A eight year old girl like that.. Want to die..?.."

Juvia

Juvia laid on her bed staring at the pocket knife on the table. "Juvia can't do that again.." She whisper to no one. Juvia jumped off her bed.

Juvia wasn't in Russia anymore.. She wasn't with them.. Juvia's new parents were kind to her. Although Juvia still felt like dying she knew it wouldn't help. She had died long ago. She didn't deserve the kind parents she was given. She was too broken for them.

Juvia sighed getting dressed to met with Lucy-san. Juvia still didn't understand why Lucy-san liked her. Juvia was pretty cold. 'Is this what friends are..?..'

Juvia stood staring at her porcelain skin and ocean eyes.

Juvia looked like a doll.

In a way she was, she had always been easy to break.

Juvia sighed put her hair up in a ponytail. She pulled on the sleeves of her sweatshirt though her scars were covered with thick layers of make up and the rest had disappeared.

Juvia dashed out the door keeping her hood on her head.

She heard a car coming and jumped out of the way just as the water splashed the ground.
'Lucky..'
Juvia was about to reach the cafe only to be pulled back by strong arms. "Pl-please let Juvia be.." She whimpered being brought back to painful memories.

A cold laugh greeted her. "Relax. I was just teasing." Her hood was yanked off her head.
Juvia clenched her fist and shut her eyes waiting for the pain to start.

BAM

Juvia winced but raised her eyebrow. "Eh..?.. Who.."
"Tch.. How sad.." A cold voice said but it was different than who ever approached Juvia.

Juvia's eyes flew up to see Gray-san's eyes locked on her. "Juvia. Don't be so weak." He scoffed before delivering another blow to the man.

Juvia felt goosebumps form on her arms. 'This raven haired idiot is confusing Juvia..'
"You just gonna stand there?!" He screamed at Juvia. Juvia nearly winced but stopped herself.

"Y-you're his kid.. Tch.. Just like him.."

The man sneered. Juvia saw Gray's face harden as his hair fell in his eyes.
"Shut up! You don't know a damn thing!" With each word, Gray kicked the man with incredible force.

It was only when Juvia grabbed him by his shirt and started walking that he stopped.
Gray spewed out every curse word in the book before he pushed Juvia's arm away. "Get the hell off me!" He glared at Juvia. Juvia kept her face blank.

"Arigato Gray-san.." He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I wasn't gonna let them kill ya. Now leave me the hell alone." Juvia raised an eyebrow. "But you saved Juvia." He let out a cold laugh that sent a chill down Juvia's spine.

"Tch.. Don't take it to heart. I don't give a damn about you. This was a one time thing." He walked away.

A scar formed on his forehead.

Scratch.

A scar formed on her leg.

Gray

I'm a liar. If anyone was in trouble again, I'd help. I don't want to let anyone in.

She'll find out eventually. When did I become so cold? When did I stop caring.

"You're his son.. You're just like him."

Ah that's it. When those words became the soundtrack of my life.

I'm best left alone.

I headed to the cafe to see Juvia sitting next Lucy and I quietly took my seat next to Loke. Natsu set some drinks down on the table and I tried not to notice the way Lucy couldn't help but look at his arm as she took her cup from him.
'Tch.. They need to just fuck already..' I sipped my coke and put on my headphones resting my feet on a near by chair.
It had been atleast 10 minutes with me not being interrupted.
Until she spoke up. "Juvia is fine.. The man was no trouble.. Someone.. Saved Juvia.." She mumbled the last part.

I stared at her in shock. 'She didn't tell them about..' I felt my breathing become shorter. "Gray.. You okay..?.." Loke touched me gently. The memories kept flashing and I couldn't stop them. 'No.. Please..' I shut my eyes quickly and didn't move. Every time I thought about it.. Everything became terrifying. "Gray?" Natsu grabbed my shoulder. I unconsciously drew my fist back and punched him square in the jaw. I heard him hit something but I was frozen.
"Natsu.. I'm sorry.." I whispered shaking terribly. I could barely see Natsu scrambling up to reach for me. I bolted out quickly. When she hadn't mentioned it... I actually thought back to it..
"Gray! I didn't do this! Believe me! You hear me? Believe me!" His words pounded in my head as I ran into my house and slammed the door shut.

"So much blood.." I whispered. My older brother Lyon, quietly sat next to me until I could breath again.

He slid a glass of water and my meds in my hand. I took them without hesitation.
"A man knew.. He knew.." I repeated over and over staring into nothingness. Lyon sighed.

"Gray.. Did that trigger it..?.." Juvia's face ran through my brain.

She looked so calm and how could she not question me?

I'm a psychopath.
She should have seen it.

We're related.. It's in the blood.

((A/N: That was chapter dos! I hope you guys like. Why so many sad parts with Gray and not Juvia you ask? Because suspense. Don't worry it's not completely short ends of scars for Juvia.
