"Draco, get your ass into this train right now before I drag you inside." I shout over to him from the door of the rather large train, people frantically passing by took a moment to look at me before carrying on. "That's no way to speak to your brother, just promise me you'll look after him?" My mother, Narcissa, grabbed my hand with pleading eyes. My father on the other hand just sent a plain stare at me.

"You know I will." I reassure her, she pulls me into a tight hug before doing the same to my irritating younger brother. I would be going into my seventh year while Draco was going into his first. I wonder if we were closer in age that we would be closer in general.

Of course I loved him, and he loved me but it felt like that was simply because we were related. Who knows, maybe this year will bring us together.

"Goodbye mother," I said softly and sent a curt nod to my father as a way to say farewell to him. Without hesitation I pull Draco into the train and begin walking down the narrow aisle, he pulled to a halt as he found his friends sitting in a compartment.

"I'm gonna sit with my friends, I assume you'll be fine without me." He looked up at me with a raised brow, "Of course idiot, let me know if you need anything." I smacked the back of his head playfully before searching for my own friends.

By friends I mean people I associate with so I'm not completely alone in school. Maybe that was mean, but I had a feeling they didn't feel much more than that towards me as well. It was .. mutual, I suppose.

Finally I spotted the ginger, and brunette sitting comfortably. "Hey guys." I said shortly and they sent a forced smile my way. "How have you been?" the red haired, Piper, asked as I took my seat. "Fine, you?" I raise an eyebrow questionably.

"Good."

My god, this was gonna be a long ride full of small talk.

Per usual all students were mandated to go to the great hall for the annual sorting of houses and dinner. I noticed Draco standing within the mob of first years, he was playing with his fingers nervously but fronted as if he wasn't.

When his name was called he confidently sat down, the sorting hat mumbling some words before shouting out 'Slytherin', obviously he was a Slytherin, he's a Malfoy for gods sake.

As he took a seat I overhead some fifth year Slytherins teasing him, seeing if he was cut out for being in this house. "Make sure you don't go crying back to your daddy if things go wrong, Malfoy." A boy said causing a couple of people to laugh.

Draco just sent a glare but didn't have enough courage to respond, so being the good big sister I am I stood up and grabbed a handful of mashed potatoes. Before the guy could look at me I smudged it all over his face, "Ever come after my brother again and I will end you." I gripped the kids chin firmly as he tried to protest.

Everyone was staring quietly before laughing erupted, when I looked around I was met with the furious gaze of Snape.

shit.

"My classroom, now." He whispered aggressively and exited the great hall, I hesitantly followed behind him. His robe cascaded behind him as he walked with such purpose.

Soon enough we reached the potions classroom, "Do you realize what you've done, stupid girl?" He spat over at me as he pressed his hands against a desk. "I was defending my brother." I replied with a glare.

"Against a student of your own house, do you know how much you've humiliated the name of Slytherin." His dark eyes narrowed down on me, causing a gentle chill to run down my spine. "Well they should have known to keep their mouth shut." I attempted to fight back.

"Detention tomorrow after classes, now get out of my sight." He instructed firmly, with a roll of my eyes I turned on my heels and exited the room. Detention with Snape, doesn't this sound exciting.
