The only thing that could be heard in the pitch black was the ragged breathing of two people.

The heavy breathing belonged to Y/n and Joey to be more exact.

But that's how it was, their relationship.

Always hiding, always in the dark, never could be seen by the public eye.

Y/n was exhausted of it all, of never being able to hold Joey's hand in public or to kiss her in the hallways, always making excuses to sneak out to see her.

But put her everything because she loved Joey, although they could never say that out loud but tried to make it clear to her with actions.

The Potter girl was scared.

Of being caught in the act with a girl, that's why she was always alert when with Y/n, always looking out to not be seen.

The two girls finally pulled back from the heated kiss they had been enduring just seconds ago.

"Well hello to you too, Jo." Y/n spoke softly while staring at her lovers features in the dark.

"Hi." Joey responded breathlessly, admiring Y/n's face which was slightly illuminated by the moonlight.

Moving away the hair that fell over Joey's eyes, Y/n tucked her hair behind her ears and caressed her cheeks.

The girl sighed nervously.

Joey opened and closed her mouth several times as of trying to tell her something but refrained from doing so.

"Jo? Is everything alright?" Y/n asked in a worried tone.

She hid her face in her palms and when she looked up her eyes were full of tears.

"We're just girlfriends Y/n. You know that right?" their face lit up at her comment.

"What do you mean by that Joey? Are you finally making this official?" happy but confused about the statement.

"N- no, that's not what i mean Y/n/n. I-" Joey stopped herself again but nonetheless continued her explanation.

Suddenly the air between the two became tense.

"You're just a girl that's a friend and- and that's all we'll ever be. Us, this, everything about us will never work out. I just can't do this anymore and trust me Y/N, I love you so fucking much that i'm telling you know before this goes too far. We have to let go. I'm leaving to France tomorrow. This is my goodbye, at least for right now. You've got to let me go Y/N." although it hurt and it truly broke her heart and soul to say but she had to.

Y/n's face became somber and her eyes swelled with tears, threatening to spill onto her cheeks, she couldn't believe it.

No. This couldn't be happening, not now when their relationship was slowly getting more serious. She stared at Joey in shock.

"You totally have to be kidding- You can't just say that and- and just let you go! As if this meant nothing." they protested, voice cracking.

Tears of anger, frustration, sadness rolled down her hot cheeks, wiping them away with the back of her hand.

"But I love you so-." Y/N sobbed, hand reaching out for Joey to take.

Hoping, praying, begging that she wouldn't actually leave.

But she did.

Joey backed up from her "Please let me go." she pleaded in defeat.

Y/n's heart was glass and Joey Potter had dropped it.
