'Chris
I stared out the window as I drove over to Craig's house. I had the radio blasting some old Jay Z song that I didn't know the name of. I just couldn't get my mind off of Valerie, my dance partner. She was real cute; her skin was so smooth and pretty. Her eyes were chinky, and her hair was short; shoulder length to be exact. And she was thick, the way I liked it. It was just all that attitude that turned me off to her. I've been with girls like that, and trust me, I was never going down that road again. Ever. Craig didn't live far from the school, so I was at his place in no time. I'm glad that Craig, Ray and Jacob befriended me so quick. This is the third school I've been to in 4 years. My mom's job is always moving somewhere different, so I'm always packing up my life and readjusting it. Over. And over. And over.
I knocked on the door the the big house I assumed was Craig's. A few seconds later, a little girl, probably about six or seven years old, with her hair in two twist. came to the door. She was adorable. "Hi," I said politely, "Is Craig home?" She nodded, and turned back into the house. "Craig! A boy is here for you," she called out. Craig came to the door and gave me dap. "Aye man, you made it," he said. I smiled, "Yeah, only for a little while though, then my mom is picking me up." He nodded, and we walked inside.
His house was really nice; the living room was spacey, the floors were polished, and I could see their beautiful backyard from the front door. When I stepped inside, I could see Jacob on the floor, with his binder and some homework all over the place. "Aye Chris," he called out, "Finally, you can help me with my Calculus homework." "Homework on the first day? You're vexed," I said. "Damn right! And it's not even like it's easy. Craig ain't even smart enough to help me," Jacob said. I could hear Craig behind me suck his teeth, "Jake, how about you shut the hell up?" I snickered, these two were complete idiots.
I looked around and noticed that Randy wasn't with them. "Where's Ray?" Jacob shrugged, "Who knows. Probably with Danika or doing some dumb shit." Craig sat on the floor with Jacob and I. "Well, I have no homework, so I'm chillin'," Prod said. I laughed, "Me neither." He turned to me, "So who's your partner for Ms. Wilson's dance assignment? I got Elexis. She can dance and she's sexy. Killer combination." I rolled my eyes, "Valerie." Jacob sucked his teeth as he tried to concentrate on his homework. "Valerie? She pisses me off. She always has something smart to say about Ray, Danika, Alexa, Natalie and I." Prod turned to Jacob, "That's because y'all always say something slick to her first." He looked back at me, "Why did you say her name like that?" I shrugged, "I mean she's cute and everything, and I'm pretty sure she's a good dancer. But, like Jacob said, she pissed me off."
Craig raised an eyebrow, "How? You just met her like nine hours ago." "Exactly," I said nodding, "I just met the girl and she's already been really rude to me. Who does that?" Craig shrugged, "Valerie does. You shouldn't judge her because of one day. She can be a really cool person, if you get to know her. Maybe you two should start over." I looked at the ground, "I highly doubt that will happen. I kinda told her off in dance." Craig's eyes got wide, "Whoa. You did what?" "I told her that she needed to suck up her attitude so we could do this project and get a good grade," I said. I could see Prince in the corner of my eye, shaking his head. "Wrong move," he said laughing, "Girls hate being barked on by guys. You'd get lucky if she ever even speaks to you again."
I put my head in my hands. "Damn, so you think I blew my chance to befriend her and start over?" Craig shrugged again, "I don't know. You're just gonna have to see to find out." I just sighed and didn't say anything else. I suddenly felt really bad about everything I said to Valerie earlier. I mean, the least I could do was try to be nice to her. And besides, I only needed to talk to her in Dance. If she even wants to talk to me. It's alright though, I have some ideas on how I can start over with her.
