2012: I was released from my freezer and was confronted by a man in green robes.
"Now," he smiled, "what do we have here?"
Looking at the ground, the HYDRA soldiers were dead and I immediately went to attack the man but he hit me in the chest with the tip of his scepter.
"Rose Sinclair Barnes. Sergeant in the United States Army. Super Soldier Alpha. Successful experiment of Project Mutant and Project Rebirth," I said, my mind expanded and clear.
"That does sound fun," the man said and stroked my cheek.
I was led out and was aware of the other people here like me. One of them had a bow and arrow and he seemed strong. The man was Loki from Asgard in space. He took a liking to me and we worked to make plans for a device to open space. However, something in me wanted to break free.
Over time, I was a great addition to Loki's growing team. I was informed that we would be traveling for a mission. However, as much as Loki enjoyed treating me like a pet, I grew tired of being dependent. I struggled to break free of whatever control he had on me.
"You are entertaining. Even now, you can still fight. You wish to leave, darling?" Loki asked and pulled me into him.
"I wish to learn more," I replied.
"Hmm," he hummed, "very well."
His scepter almost pierced my forehead and it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I felt weightless but parts of my memories rushed over me. My hand pressed against my forehead and I fell into Loki. Loki? Who is that? I looked up at him and I think he said he was a god. His smile made me feel something that I felt once before. Why?
"How surprising, darling," he said in approval.
"Th-Thank you," I said softly.
His attention was taken from me to what the other people were doing around us. I saw their eyes were pitch black and I winced thinking that's what I looked like. Even though Loki took a liking to me, I snuck out of wherever I was and found myself in a museum. Looking at my outfit, I was in a revealing formal dress, and thinking back to Loki's suit, I was meant to be his date. The dress had a deep neck cut and a high slit up to my thigh. I've never seen women's clothing like this.
He took my arm suddenly, "Slippery little minx."
"I, um, needed some air. Where am I?" I asked.
"Germany. I need an eye," he replied and descended the stairs with me.
"Germany? An eye?" I asked, completely confused.
He nodded his head to a man and we made his way to him. As he walked he used his cane to knock out one of the security guards and my reflexes took over to take out the second guard when he charged me. Loki smirked at me and dragged the curator to a table that was also a centerpiece. When he flipped the curator onto the table, he inserted a device to the curator's eye. The formal guests screamed in horror and evacuated. I felt sick seeing the torture but Loki's smile showed him in pure bliss. He took my arm again and left the museum with me. This time, his cane was the scepter and his outfit shifted into robes and a large helmet with two curling horns on the top. He might actually be a god. His hand slid across my bare exposed back and guided me outside.
"Time to leave, darling. You're quite attractive," he said in my ear, making me shiver.
We looked at the panicked crowd leaving and as a police car sped towards us, he put his arm around my waist and used his staff to shoot an energy blast at it. I looked up at him, my mind racing. What is this? What is this power? Why is he taking a liking to me? He even unlocked some memories that I didn't know I had locked away. He surrounded the screaming bystanders with images of him, like a projection, and demanded everyone kneel to us. I hated this feeling with everyone staring at us with fear. This feels wrong. I never fought for this. When an old man stood up to Loki in defiance, Loki shot an energy blast at him. From the sky, a man in blue fell and lifted a painful memory to reflect the blast back to Loki, knocking him to the ground and releasing me.
"Ro?" the man in blue asked.
I fell to my knees and held my head. Loki stood up and picked me up to sit on his shoulder. Straining, I looked at the man holding part of my memory. The man in blue stood down and lowered his shield, something I've seen and held before.
"Give. Me. Ro," the man in blue spat.
R-Ro? Isn't that.. my name? What is my name? The scent of Loki was beginning to cloud my thoughts.
"Only if she wants to go to you. Do you want to, darling?" he asked, looking at me and didn't even give me a chance to breathe before looking back at the man and shook his head, "No."
Above us, a massive jet-like thing hovered and demanded that Loki drop his weapon and release me, a hostage. The noise was so loud and this invention was so advanced. He shot a blast at the thing and the man in blue threw his shield at Loki's chest while running to catch me. I threw my arms over the man's shoulders and somehow felt safer. I looked into his eyes and felt my mind about to burst being in his arms. The man carried me to the fountain nearby and I held myself while attempting to breathe when he left me there. The man fought Loki until loud music started to play from the jet invention. Another man in an iron suit flew in and shot Loki with more blasts from his suit. Loki surrendered and the man in blue came to me. It was too much for me to process and I shut down before he could reach me.
