{One Year Later}
[Narrator's POV]
Sitting in his office with a head full of thoughts, Jeon Jungook, the new CEO of Jeon enterprises, heaved a heavy sigh and got up from his chair. Again he felt the same things, the same uneasiness, the same restlessness. He stood in front of the big glass window which looked down at the bustling city below, people running around doing the things that need to be done, people meeting, some happy, some sad, some concerned, some at peace...
He was lost in his thoughts staring at the sight before him, hands in his pockets. No emotion on his face whatsoever. Unknowingly a tear slipped out of his eye.
Suddenly and pair of hands snaked their way around his waist and someone rested their head against his back. He was taken aback by the sudden actions. He immediately wiped the tear and cleared his throat urging the person to speak up.
"I came here to meet you Jungkook-shi" A soft voice spoke. Jungkook just nodded his head having no other desire to continue or engage in the conversation. "Are you still feeling uneasy?" The soft voice spoke once again breaking the heavy silence in the room. He did not reply nor did he move an inch.
"Yah! Jungkook-ah reply to her! Is this the way you treat your fiance?!" A stern voice spoke from behind. "Eomma." Jungkook greeted her getting surprised by her sudden appearance, removing the hands around his waist. "How long are you going to treat Jisoo that way? It has already been months that you guys have been engaged." Jungkooks mother spoke crossing her hands on her chest.
Jungkook just stared at her nonchalantly. "Aigoo you have become so quiet ever since the incident- well never mind that. I am here to inform you that you and Jisoo are going to be going wedding dress shopping today. After all the wedding is next month." Jungkooks mom spoke with a bright smile.
Jungkooks eyes widened hearing what his mother had to say "Eomma, I am busy and I have meetings scheduled for today. I can't leave work-" Jungkook was in the middle of his sentence when Mrs. Jeon raised her hand to stop him from speaking any further. "Don't worry about the meetings, your father will take care of them for today as the former CEO. You guys are still young and need to enjoy life rather than always burying yourself in work." Mrs. Jeon spoke proudly.
"But Eomma the meetings are really important-" Jungkook spoke but got cut by Mrs. Jeon again."Jungkook-ah, look at poor Jisoo, she patiently waited for you. You guys would have gotten married if it weren't for you not being ready. How much longer are you going to let her wait?" Mrs. Jeon spoke matter-of-factly.
Jungkook felt guilty for making Jisoo wait like this just because of him. She sacrifices her happiness for him, and he just pushes all her feelings aside just like that? But still, he didn't spare a glance at Jisoo. Jungkook was frustrated as he was the cause of the problem here. He ran his fingers through his silk-like hair and heaved a heavy breath. After pondering for a while he finally spoke "Fine."
Jisoo's face lit up after hearing that and Mrs. Jeon was just as happy as her. Jisoo hugged Jungkook tightly before speaking excitedly. "Thank you for agreeing. You are the best." She said and rested her head on his chest with closed eyes and a huge smile plastered on her face.
Jungkook pondered if he should hug her back. No matter whatever he tries he can never get feelings for Jisoo. He has just become dispassionate after the incident, some may say he's not even the same Jungkook anymore.
Jungkook mustered up all his courage and patted her back for the first time since they got engaged Jisoo clings to him but he just doesn't feel that way. Jisoo was on cloud nine and could not believe what was happening.
