Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec[Gun History]
"A relic from a far more civilized age..."
It needs no introduction. The M1911, the OG SAP (the successful OG, shut up) has been copied to death, both legally and not illegally. Bane of glock users, the 1911 is still in use by the US military, in certain niche roles, and still widely used by the public, mostly by fudds who swear it's the best concealed carry pistol because John Moses Browning himself made it.Wether anyone wants to admit it or not, it's design heavily influenced how semi automatic pistols would be built for decades later (and we still see it's influence today). In a roundabout sorta way. Kinda like how the AK is Not an StG-44 clone, but how the StG influenced Assault Rifles.
Although it was almost never used in combat during either of the world wars it's been claimed to have won in (😉 look it up), it has dutifully served as America's first service pistol allotted to enlisted members of the military, doing pretty well for itself in wartime, competition, and the civilian world.
Just don't buy any of it's copies, licensed or otherwise. Actually, don't buy one at all.
It belongs in a museum.[Real Steel, GFL Variant only]
-Author's note
Due to the the M1911A1 having more information on it than Springfield Armory's 1911 Mil Spec, we'll only use the data of the M1911A1, since the Mil-Spec is based off of it anyways.
Also because I refuse to buy it to find out the information needed, as is the case for every other gun in the series.

For the record, no one gave a straight answer.
Basically, if they have a somewhat serious Army, they probably used it or it's copies at some point.
*United States, still in use under various niche roles
*Brazil, IMBEL makes A1 copies for them, chambered in 9mm (heathens) and designated M973
*West Taiwan, Norinco makes copies for them
*Philippines, Seraphim Armory makes copies, and they also use the M1911A1 proper
*Germany, the Volksturm (people's storm) used captured M1911s)
*Norway, they use the Kingsberg copy
*Taiwan, both the M1911A1, and their own licensed copy, the T51
*Thailand, the Royal Rhai Army uses the Type 86, a copy of the M1911A1
*Turkey, they use the MC1911, an A1 copy made by Girsan
*UK, used in limited service by British forces from WW1 onward
*South Korea, some forces, particularly Air Force officers, use the RIA officer models. S&T Daewoo also makes copies for them.
*Bolivia
*Columbia
*Costa Rica
*Dominican Republic
*East Timor
*Egypt, used by some of their elite forces
*Ecuador
*Fiji (I thought Fiji was a water brand)
*Georgia, used by elite forces
*Guatemala
*Haiti
*Iran
*Liberia
*Lithuania
*Malaysia, used by special forces
*Mexico, they have some M1911s and M1911A1s
*Nicaragua
*North Korea, they made several copies for some of their "elite" forces
*Papa New Guinea, Im sure they used some during their American sponsored Coup
*Spain
*Vietnam, they made some local copies in 7.62x25mm Tokarev, as well as some captured M1911A1s
*Zimbabwe
*Argentina, M1911s made by Dirección General de Fabricaciones
*Austria
This is hurting my finger why is this so long
*Belgium
*Canada, they used some during both WWs
*Cuba
*El Salvador
*Estonia
*Ethiopian Empire, used by the Kagnew Battalion
*Finland, they bought some in between WW1 and 2, but many disappeared during the Finnish Civil War, so only a couple were used during WW2
*France, used by Free French Forces, particularly tank units
*Democratic Republic of Georgia, im pretty sure we're just making countries up now
*Kingdom of Laos, several were given by the US and used during the Laotian Civil War
*Luxembourg
*Nutsi Germany, captured from GIs
*New Zealand, used during WW2
*Japan. The US have several thousands to the SDF and police forces post WW2
*Netherlands. We have them 50 during WW2. Is there some sort of missed irony here?
*Norway, the US gave them some Kongsberg copies during WW1
*Polish Armed Forces, used during WW2
*Russian Empire, the US sold em like 50k
*Shanghai Intl. Settlement, used M1911s and M1911A1s
*South Vietnam, may it rest in pieces
*USSR, some captured from the (American) Allied Intervention during the Russian Civil War. The US also gave em some during the lend lease agreement during WW2, to which they then proceeded to bastardize it by chambering in 7.62 Tok. Understandable, but, still disgusting.End of the list. I don't want to be here anymore.
