April 22th 1933 -

Abigail woke up bright and early, ready to start the day. She practically leaped out of bed as she ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She then went back into her room to get dressed. Her mother had sewn her a beautiful new dress for the special day. It was a soft lavender color with little white flowers all over it. Abigail had spent the last of her savings on the fabric but she thought it was worth every penny, it wasn't that often she would get something new. The color brought out her bright green eyes and she loved the way she looked in it. After putting on the dress, she took out the curlers her mother had placed in the night before. She brushed through her golden blonde hair to loosen the curls a little. Her hair was a little longer than how most girls wore it, but she liked it. She took one last look at herself in the mirror and smiled with excitement. Abigail hadn't gotten this dressed up in forever and she felt pretty. Then, she headed to the kitchen where the rest of the family was, skipping a little with each step. As she approached, she saw Mrs. Rogers and the two boys seated at the table eating breakfast. "How do I look?" she asked as she entered.

"Oh my!" her mother gasped. "You look beautiful!"

"Well it's all thanks to your sewing skills. Thanks again for making the dress mama," she said as she embraced her mother in a hug.

"Nonsense it was nothing," she said.

"Wow, you actually look like a girl," Bucky teased, knowing that Abigail didn't get dressed up very often. She looked at him and made a 'seriously' face.

"Yeah, what's the occasion?" Steve chimed in.

"Abigail is about to go on her first date," Mrs. Roger replied excitedly.

"What boy would ask her on a date?" Steve mocked. Mrs. Rogers swatted him on the back of the head as she got up to clean her plate. "Ow," he said looking at his mother.

"Well, William Kelly would," Abigail said, proudly crossing her arms. She took her seat next to Bucky.

"William Kelly?" Bucky repeated with a confused face.

"Yes, he is taking me to the movies later today," she replied. Bucky continued looking at her. "What?!" she slightly shouted. "I'm almost 15 years old. It's about time I had my first date." Abigail said firmly, annoyed by Bucky's behavior.

Bucky shook his head and held his hands up, as if pleading innocent. "I wasn't gonna say anything."

- Time Skip ; Just before the date -

Abigail paced nervously around the kitchen. William would be there any minute to take her to the movies. She'd never been on a date before, so she didn't know what to expect. What if I act too awkward, or say the wrong thing, or do the wrong thing? What if he changed his mind and he doesn't  like me anymore? All of these thoughts raced through her mind before she decided to stop worrying so much. You're just overthinking it, she told herself, you're going to have fun. She still couldn't believe a boy had actually asked her on a date. And not just any boy, he was a rather handsome one too. William was a year older than Abigail. He had dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. He was tall and had a sharp, defined jawline. Abigail didn't know how a boy like that had noticed her. It wasn't that she was ugly, she was actually rather pretty, she just didn't act the way most girls her age did.
