I am walking through a nearby forest now. I remember going here with mum when I was younger. The ground is damp and moist from rain but the pink sunset is beautiful. As I walk through the path the sunlight shines through the trees. I decided to make some type of shelter for tonight.
A while later I have gathered lots of wood, branches, grass, and just general wildlife things. I am now about to attempt to make some type of shelter. I balance the big bits of wood and branches up against the tree. I'm not very good at this. It'll only be for one night, though.
I plonk to the ground, after trying and failing to make a safe and weatherproof shelter. I have lost my faith, and am so tired. I should probably get something to eat, to give me a boost of energy, as I don't think i will be getting much sleep tonight. It's a 20 minute walk to the local shop. I get there soon and fish out my purse and take out some money and give it to the man at the till, who has a name badge saying 'Jason' on his t-shirt.Jason's POV
A young girl, that looks around 14,15, walks up to the till with an energy drink and some sweets, as well as a ready-made meal. I wonder what she's doing with all that at this time? Sleepovers, probably. I look up from my newspaper as she takes some money out of her purse. I seem to recognise that face from somewhere,it seems familiar. She looks a lot like that girl I seen in the news today. Same long ginger hair, same freckles, same face. I take the money and take a quick look at the newspaper cover. She looks exactly like the missing girl.
"What's your name, madam?"
"Em... Jenny? Why?"
Same name as well... Can't just be a coincidence.Jenny's POV
The man at the till grabs my arm. I fight back. "Let go! Who are you!" He doesn't let go. He keeps a firm grip on my arm as I keep on screaming.
"Have you, by any chance ran away from home?" He asks, calmly.
"How did you know?! What has this got to do with you? Ahhhh!"
He takes a phone out from his pocket and dials a number into it, while looking at the newspaper. Then it all comes flooding to me. I get it now. Someone must've reported me missing, and I'm in the news! And he would've recognised me from his newspaper! I should of though of this. I never stood a chance of surviving while running away.
"Hi," he says through the phone. "I think I have found your daughter, Jenny Scone..."
He gives my Mum the details of where we are, then hangs up.A while later, mums car drives up, and she rushes in to the shop and thanks Jason. Then she walks up to me and grabs my arm, and takes me back to the car not saying a word.
"What do you think you're doing, running away like that!" She screams.
"Mum! It's a long story! I don't think you will under-"
"I don't care about long stories! You gave me a heart attack!"
"Mum, I'm sorry. You wouldn't understand!" We both burst into floods of tears, and she pulls me into a hug. "Darling, I know you're upset, but I'm your mother. I will always understand. How long have you been keeping this in for?"
"I am going to tell you. I'm so sorry mum. I feel so bad," a pang of guilt hits me in the chest.
We are at home and I have explained it all to her. "I know it sounds like a really bad idea to run away, mum. I was stupid."
"I know. It's ok.but you can't do this again, ok?" She warns. "I nearly had a heart attack."
"I'm sorry," I whisper. "I feel so bad."
"As long as your safe."Hey! Thank you for reading! I don't know if this story is very long, and it's probably not very good but I tried my best! Also, in my last chapter where I mentioned Scott, I meant Arran. Scott is someone else from another story I'm reading. I messed it up aha, so just if you were wondering who it was. Hope you liked! Comment what you think.
