daniel was working the night shift (again) and there were countless of people who gave him the stink-eye (again). there was a guy who looked at him in a weird way. a girl looked at him strangely while buying tampons. another guy with tattoos who... well, he was too scared to even discern how he was looking at him. there's also a homeless man who wanted to rob him blind, but instead, felt sorry for him.

daniel, in his old body, know what people feel when they're looking at him. he knows that they judge him based on his appearance and first impression. however, it's still him, he's still daniel, albeit without the ridiculously tall height and pretty face, it's still him.

the clock hit three am in the morning and he was starting to get bored out of his mind. daniel thought it'd be a great idea to lose some pounds, thus the reason why he's now shuffling around and about.

in the middle of getting up after one push-up, is it still called a push-up if he didn't get to push himself up? well, whatever. because there's a customer and he still have yet to pick himself off the ground.

"welcome." he said, greeting the customer.

now, here's the thing, daniel didn't dream of meeting a gorgeous girl at three in the morning, but maybe luck was finally on his side for once, because the customer that just got in was gorgeous!

she had long light caramel hair, doe eyes that made her seem all the more gentle. her white fitted long-sleeved polo shirt and khaki skirt showcased her assets so well.

daniel anticipated it, he just knows that she'll look at him like he's some kind of insect. they always do. he's used to it, but he can't help but feel the embarrassment settling in now that he's come face to face with this female.

"oh, sorry! i work out a lot too, just like that. if i made you feel bad, i'll apologize."

okay. he wasn't expecting that. the pretty ones always got a pass to be rude because, well, they're pretty. but she seems to not be one of those stuck up people with pretty faces. to say that daniel was moved would be a great understatement. he can't believe that this girl is not only pretty, but she's also kind.

"you must be tired, drink this."

"thank you."

"have a good night."

daniel's heart was beating so fast in his chest he fears it might pop right out, a smile was prancing on his lips as he watched her figure slowly fade from his sight. he looked down at the energy drink she left for him, still with a smile on his face, he wished that the world was full of those kinds of people, the kind ones.

'this is also the same drink hera left for me the other night.' he thought to himself as he held the bottle close to him.

the streets were dark, the park where she often jogs is lit by a few streetlights littered here and there. it was cold, a breeze would often pass her by once in a while but she never paid it any heed. it was quiet, she hated the silence just as much as she loved it.

when it's quiet, she's left to deal with her thoughts. when it's dark, she has no choice but to face her fears. and at this time before dawn, specifically at three in the morning, her monsters decided to come out and play.

these monsters, they began plaguing her with self-destructive thoughts alright. not even running would help even if she tried, because right now, there's no way she can outrun these sons of bitches. she can't silence them, so she let them play while listening to the sounds the wheels of her skateboard was making whilst she skated through the empty streets.

she looked up at the sky. it's currently a blank canvas. there's only darkness. there was no moon nor were there any stars. it's just her alone. she doesn't like this, she doesn't like the feeling that envelops her when she's all by herself.
