It was another dusk in the Kanto Prefecture as the day again came to a close. The city of Shibukawa was shining, with the lights of multiple buildings illuminating the Area. The three mountains that stood around Shibukawa gave a slight shadow due to the little amount of light left. These mountains.... were the mountains of Mt. Akina, Mt. Myogi and Mt. Akagi At the top of Mt. Akagi was a shed. This shed was open, and the inside of it was dark. However, there were footsteps in the shed, which then turned into the sound of a car door being opened. Then, another sound of a door being opened sounded, as the hydraulic bars of the suspension of the two cars let out a little air, causing a squeaking sound to be emitted. Then, Two rotary Engines came to life, their roars echoing through the mountain. These.... Were the Takahashi brothers.
The tell-tale noises of pop up headlight motors at work sounded over the engine noise, and six beams of light shot out of the shed, Illuminating the area in front of the cars. The first car, a Matte black RX-7, pulled out of the shed, its headlights and foglamps shining. The car looked simple and clean on the outside, with no body-kits and a small lip-spoiler at the back of the car. The inside, however, was modified to push out maximum performance. The twin-turbocharged, twin-rotor 13B 1.3-liter rotary engine purred, the engine giving out a satisfying roar. After the FC, another bright orange Mazda Miata Hardtop Followed. This car had a small body kit and a wing, for it was extremely lightweight. Its 1.6L inline four swapped out for another twin-rotor 13B. Both cars essentially had the same performance, with the Miata being used for both the downhill and uphill due to its extremely good power-to-weight ratio. The FC was used for the downhill and uphill too, and essentially had the same weight as the Miata.
Behind the wheel of these extremely well-tuned cars were the legendary rotary brothers. The teenager, sitting in the Miata went by the name of Satoru Takahashi. He was the fastest uphiller in town, his speed unmatched by any other racedriver. He was the twin brother of Akihiro Takahashi, who had intelligently developed the strategy of shifting the car's weight around to maximize traction and allow the car to reach extremely fast speeds in corners and straights. "Akihiro, I have heard that Saburo was replaced as the leader of Mt. Akina. There's a new guy in town. You wanna check it out?" Satoru asked his brother. "Sure.... I think we have been waiting for far too long. I have been losing patience ever since we became the fastest on all the courses." Akihiro replied, agreeing with Satoru. "First to the bottom!" Akihiro yelled, and revved his car to the optimum rpm to optimize wheelspin and use the full power output. Satoru also did the same, and the two then sped off. The Miata and the FC were about to enter the corner, and both of them performed the footwork that they had been doing for years together. They pressed the clutch with the heel of their shoes, then put the foot flat, engaging the brakes. The cars jerked forward due to the deceleration, and they changed the gear to second from third in sync. They then crushed the accelerator to make the rear tires to lose traction, the two then drifted through the corner side by side, their tires emitting smoke. "Don't overdo it, alright? We do not want our tires completely spent by the time we get there." Satoru yelled to Akihiro over the engine noise. "Yeah, you too" Akihiro yelled back, and they continued their run. They took the rest of the corners on grip, not wanting to overwork their tires before an upcoming race. they reached the bottom of Mt. Akagi a bit slower, with both of them finishing the downhill run at the same time.
At Mt. Akina, there was not a lot of activity. However, the noise of a 4A-GE echoed throughout the hill, as the Eight-Six of Mt. Akina climbed up the hill. Inside the car was Bunta Fujiwara, who seemed to be in deep thought. Why did Yuichi invite me again?" Bunta asked himself, but could still not figure out anything. A few moments later, a pair of square headlight appeared from behind the hairpin turn that Bunta had just taken on the uphill. Bunta was approaching the next turn, and again braked a bit before turning in the direction of the corner. The brake lights reflected on the metal face of the car, and the words 'Levin' were written in bold letters.
