Kira stepped out the make-shift tent, rubbing her aching back gently.
"When can I ever get a break?" she grumbled lowly under her breath.
She had heard shouting outside, waking her up from a long-awaited nap she had been looking forward to.
As she shrugged on her jacket, and somehow managed to put on her worn-out boots on, she wondered what all the ruckus was about.
"Kira!" I turned to the right, to see that Evan was running towards me.
When Evan and I had left the orphanage at Rhermia to train for our military service in Kiritosi, we had only ourselves to trust and depend on. By his urgent tone of voice, I could tell that something was wrong...very wrong.
Evan had finally reached towards me, and although I hated to admit it, he still looked good.
When we used to live in the orphanage, Evan was short and stocky, still not old enough to be developed. He eventually got a growth spurt, and became annoyingly taller then me by a head. As our military training grew more and more intense, Evan began to change and his body formed muscles and my feelings for him managed to grow, which I thought wasn't possible.
"What's wrong?" I replied worriedly
"He's..he..re" He replied, holding his hands on his knees, crouched over, still out of breath from the run.
Growing even more confused, "Who's here?" I replied
Evan finally looked up at me, his eyes showing that he was just as confused as I was.
"The Dark One" he replied, his usual amused eyes showing the slightest bit of fear.
