TW - Blasphemy

This fanfiction is inspired by 1am_angel . I hope you like it~!

Despite the blazing flames that burned high, breaking the blackness, Adam could swear he had never experienced such an unbearable cold.
How? How could he have allowed such a misfortune to happen to him? How could he have been so naive?

He should never have listened to that woman.

He had loved her. He had loved Eve with all of himself, from the day God created her. And yet, in the end, his love for her had made him blind. In fact, the very affection he felt for her led him to his doom.

He knew her pain. The hunger, the cold, the sorrow and regret had been eating their hearts. And yet, while Adam somehow managed to keep his soul to himself, Eve's had been irredeemably corrupted.
One day, as he entered their crumbling hut, she lunged at him like a feral animal, bloodshot eyes and demoniac screams. In a flash he found himself laying in the dirt, his throat slit open.

When he had opened his eyes, he found himself in a miserable and sweltering darkness. The only source of light was flames, the only way was down, the only sound was dreadful laughter. He was walking slowly, his head down, painfully aware of destiny – or better yet, present. Eternal damnation.

Those rare times he dared to raise his eyes, he would see crooked and disturbing shadows silhouetted on the immense walls of sulphurous rock, and so he averted his eyes in fear. The deeper he went, the bigger the shadows became, but the quieter the laughter sounded.

Adam held his shoulders as the cold hit his bare skin, penetrating in his bones, and his breath froze as he puffed out. How could it be that a place engulfed in fire was so cold?

"My, look at you..."he heard a voice suddenly speak. He turned his head quickly, observing his surrounding with wary eyes. Then he saw him sitting on a nearby rock, his figure hidden in the dark. He frowned, his heartbeat slowing down as he tried to gain a little control over himself. He was already dead after all, he couldn't be killed twice. At least he thought so.

"I had only heard of you from that vain bastard...but you truly are a sight to behold."the stranger affirmed, and Adam found himself trembling at the sound of his voice. He had talked to God before, he had heard his voice, but it wasn't ever remotely comparable to that melodic, graceful sound.

"Who are you?"he dared to ask, turning to face him completely.

At his words the figure stepped out of the shadow, and Adam held his breath as his heart raised in his throat.

His alabaster skin sparkled, reflecting the dim light of the flames, but it seemed to glow with its own gleam. His hair was lustrous and soft bronze curls, and fell softly on a face adorned by boyish features, even more accentuated by a pair of striking ocean eyes. But what struck Adam the most were that man's wings.

He had seen angels before, roaming around Eden. Their wings were covered in silvery feathers. But his were tainted black as if they had been immersed in ashes, and bigger than normal.

"Are you an angel?"he wandered out loud. The man raised an eyebrow, seemingly amused:"No, silly soul...".

Gracefully, he reached out for Adam's face and brushed his knuckles along his cheekbone, and he jolted away as he suddenly felt like his body had been set ablaze:"...I'm a God."the creature finished with a murmur.

"B-But...But God told me–":"Whatever he said, was a lie. Look at them."the man indicated the shadows on the walls:"Gods. Goddesses. Heroes. All of us were trapped here when that ungrateful wretch took over our throne."he growled, pearl white teeth coming into view from under his supple red lips.
