Swimming in Confusion

This is a short chapter and its a rough draft of the story . Its still under construction. Please let me know what you think. 

Ruby's POV 

'' Ruby do you accept the title of the chosen one?''

Ahhh......What ?!? The chosen one ? You have to be shitting me ! 

'' Yes?'' I said unsure. But at that point in time I was swimming in confusion. So many questions are flowing through my mind. Was I ready? Why me ? Is this a dream? Did they not see what I just did ? Are they blind? Gosh !! Don't they know who I am ? Most importantly, what  I am ?

'' Ruby?" Jason asked

''My heart is dead. I'm a monster. I have done horrible things.This world needs a better leader. Someone with compassion, understanding. Someone that is the complete opposite if what I am. I NOT capable of supplying theses qualities that posses a great leader. A leader is fair, honest, responsible and overall she can listen to our agony filled problems. A person who accepts the bad and banishes  the evil and its NOT me.''

'' A bad leader dosen't admit they're monsters. A great one does. Think about it darling. Let me know in a couple of days." The elders completed their sentence and hastily exited. All you could hear is  silence only our breathing could be heard. Unexpected events had happened towards the end of that day. Jason's ok. Its a blessing I don't what I would have done if he died Its times like these that  I think back to my mom and pray I don't out like her. I know this is only the beginning to my story and trust me I've only scratched the surface of it. Time to close my eyes and look forward to the undefined events of tomorrow.
