Chapter 1

What Happened?

“I won again!”

I narrowed my eyes and pouted as I watch my best friend’s cousin, Naomi, dance like a maniac around the room. She pounded her fist in the air like she won the lottery. I snort unattractively which caught her attention because she turned her head to look at me. “Did you just snort?” She asked trying to stifle her giggle.

“No…”

She stared at me with a blank face.

“Hailey, you sure are aware we’re the only one in the house right now. Or do you see something I cannot see because in that case I think I’m gonna go to the Carter’s by myself instead…” she grabbed her coat and car keys slowly making her way out the door.

Naomi’s part of the gang now, since she move here she started hanging out with us. There’s no doubt the boys adore her. She’s one hell of a ball full of sunshine. I’ve known her back then because she’s Kelly’s cousin but we haven’t really talked that much.

Now we’re close as two coats of paint. She moved in with me in my new flat since we’re going to the same university.

“Hey! Wait up!” I called after her as I pulled myself up from the floor with a heave.

We played 4 rounds of Mario Kart and she beat me 3 times. 3 pickle times! I never lose in any games before! Even the Carter brothers can’t beat me. I told her to never mention this to any living soul which she gladly agreed to do but in return she asked me to go with her to the Carter’s residence.

This wasn’t a problem for me before but I’m kind of avoiding a particular Carter boy named Kevin. We’ve been together for 2 years. Believe it or not it’s the longest relationship that Kevin has ever been. Relationship’s wasn’t his thing before he’s kind of the bad boy type of guy who flirts with every living thing with boobs. I’m happy he matured and started acting more like his age.

But the last few months of our relationship has been rough. We bicker and fight a lot over the stupidest things. But last week was the worse and we never spoke a word since then. I know I over reacted and I am sorry. Our relationship used to be rainbows and unicorns. He may not be the sweetest and expressive guy but I know I cannot live without him. I know.. I just know I’m in love with him. I haven’t told him yet but I know it’s true.

I’m ready to forgive him before he even says he’s sorry.

Naomi started the car. “Well princess are you coming or what.”

Snapping back to reality I opened the passenger seat then hopped in ready to go face my prince.

Or so I thought.
