3rd pov
Aussie's parents were living in poverty for a few years since they dropped out of school when they found out they were pregnant, they were 17.
They then got married and ran off to Gotham. After Aussie's mother gave birth to her, she suffered from Postpartum depression and still does. Her father was working all the time but still made time to see his wifey and babygirl. When Aussie was 8 her father was shot to death over a miscommunication with the police, which only made her mother more depressed and stopped talking to Aussie, so she would often go out since she felt like she was not wanted.
She would often be on the sidewalks of crime alley singing to herself of songs she heard on the radio.
One day she was sitting on the sidewalk while singing "talking to the moon" at night ignoring the crackheads and gunshots she heard (yes she was out in the dark at crime alley, just roll with it for now...she ain't know no better💀) and Dick Greyson heard her while he was out patrolling with the dark knight, he sneaked away from Bruce and the public and watched her sing (btw she was about 9 so dick was about to turn 15)
The more he heard her sing, the more drawn he was to her and damn well forgot he was supposed to be working until Batman put his hand on dick's shoulder, scaring the shit out of him.
"B-Batman! Don't scare me like that! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Dick said while clutching his chest and catching his breath.
Batman glared down at him "If you were paying attention that wouldn't have happened, right? What were you staring at anyway?" Bruce asked in a deep voice.
The boy looked down to wear you were sitting and pointed at you, since they were standing on an apartment building. "That girl. She was singing and i guess I got a little distracted!" He exclaimed sheepishly while rubbing his nape.
Bruce looked to where the first Robin was pointing, squinting his eyes slightly. Dick was right, you had a nice set of pipes on you. But, the thing Bruce was wondering was why you were alone at night without an adult?
This is a very dangerous part of town, especially for a mere defenseless child.
He jumped down to the ground and walked towards you quietly, with dick on his capetail.
Azalea's pov
I had just finished the song I was singing and decided to go home since you mom might be worried about you, but it seems she doesn't really care about anything these days ever since daddy died.
I started to tear up at the thought of my father, now dead. Why do all the best people die in the worst and most painful ways?
I got up and turned around only to bump into a dark figure. I immediately jumped back and took out the taser my mom gave me.
"Who're you?" I asked in the most scary voice I could muster. Guess it didn't work considering the fact he didn't even change his facial expression and the person behind him was smirking.
"I'm Batman-" "AND IM ROBIN I LOVED YOUR SINGING!! I MEAN YOUR SO GOOD FOR SUCH A YOUNG AGE!" The boy named Robin suddenly interrupted the man in all black and stepped in front of him while walking towards me.
The "Batman" glared at this "Robin" person.
"Uh-uh you better back up unless you feel like having a shock to your system!" I said while putting my taser in front of me, internally preying that he wouldn't come any closer.
All the while getting closer to the road.
"Hey calm down, I'm not going to hurt you" he said putting his hand up in a surrender manner.
"Tch, yea 2 men playin dress up sneak up on me and say "They don't wanna hurt me"." I gave him a deadpanned expression while backing up more.
I didn't notice that I was in the middle of the street now, or that a car was coming.
