God this sucks

After five long days, Bakugou's eyes finally opened. At first, everything was blurry, clouded sight prevented him from noticing his saviours. He blinked his eyes repeatedly just to clear his vision and spots the roof of the cave. What came next was a pain in his chest, pulsating much like his head, like fire itching at his skin. It disappeared as if a pail of water was thrown on his body. Instead, a familiar green light flickered in his view, and something on his chest brought warmth over his wound.

Despite being wide awake, he couldn't move his body as it was still waking up, only his head turned towards the unknown presence beside him. Reaching his ringing ears, his groggy expression meets your form, sleeping soundly next to him. The flickering light is you subconsciously keeping your healing magic alight. It was quick for Bakugou to notice the blood running down your nose, and nothing was keeping your body warm but the firepit behind you.

Slowly, his hands twitched, then his arms. He wanted to lean up, though he didn't want to disturb you while you rest. Being out for so long, Bakugou felt an aching sensation all over his body. He was more thirsty than hungry, and he craved water. Gaining more movement in his body, he turned onto his side, taking your hand on his chest into his own. Your magic stopped altogether, and the warm feeling wore off on Bakugou. The blankets on him fell off his body, including your cape over his own. He then sets your hand on top of your stomach before he cups your cheek.

You idiot. Hurting yourself so my dumbass could live, He stroked your cheek, moving bits of your hair out of your face. You squirmed, leaning your face more into his touch, growing warm to the touch and smile. Bakugou was captivated by how peaceful you looked as you slept, it made the tips of his ears turn red. However, it was obvious that you didn't sleep all that much noticing the bags beneath your eyes. The pad of his thumb wiped at the blood, causing it to smudge along your cheek.

In truth, Bakugou had heard everything, the tears you shed, Kirishima revealing the past. For him, it's like hell hearing about the pain he caused that day all over again. Killing anyone who wasn't his enemy is a rule in his book, yet he broke that rule in an instant. He felt weak. Sitting up, Bakugou's arms went behind your shoulders and the back of your knees. He moved your body and laid you down where he slept. It was his turn to throw a blanket over you and slip his arms through the straps of his cloak.

As he made sure you stayed asleep, Bakugou remember the kiss you placed on his lips. You saw it as a way to save his life whilst, Bakugou believed it to be a trigger. Ignited within him are feelings he never felt for anyone. Once a man who denied every girl around every corner, Bakugou's heart fell for a runaway princess. Leaning down, Bakugou pressed his chapped lips on your lips, returning what shouldn't have been wasted on him.

Grasping his chest, Bakugou pulled himself up without having to stumble on his feet. He struggled a bit, falling against a wall and almost collapsing onto his knees. "Damn it-"

On the ground beside your satchel, Bakugou finds a water canister. He quickly indulged in the contents, quenching his dry throat. After a few long gulps, He drops the flask, hearing the canister land with a clang. Heavy breathing came from the other side of the firepit. Seeing his best friend sleeping in his dragon form, Bakugou let out a couple of breaths, wiping away the water on his lips. He strode over to Kirishima, finding his sword left on the ground. Ignoring it, Bakugou kicked at Kirishima's arm. "Wake up, you idiot,"

Disturbed, the dragon's eyes snapped open, and his head shot up, emitting a bewildered snort. When he sees Bakugou awake and standing, he's happy. He lowered his head, nuzzling Bakugou with the side of his face. Bakugou pets Kirishima's nose, allowing him a moment of comfort. Looking over his shoulder, he watched you shift taking in the surface you were sleeping on. With another pat on Kirishima's nose, Bakugou moved the dragon's eyes onto him. "I need you to do something for me,"

Back in your kingdom, Shouto reads over the letter you left. Your father provided him with a room while he stayed in the castle. However, it won't be long before he has to return home for a celebration. His stay in your home alongside Yaoyorozu has been eventful, and yet he was unaware of his father's plan. Shouto only hoped all was well wherever you ended up venturing. For some time, Yaoyorozu has kept him company, sharing her fascination and love for reading. It's what Enji prevented her from doing since she became Shouto's knight, a way for them to bond.

Shouto didn't refuse her when they found the royal library. It's there; he understands his knight a little more. Meanwhile, Hawks returned to King Enji empty-handed. After the ordeal between him, Bakugou and Izuku, Hawks ended up out of your reach and walked back to your kingdom. His wings were reduced to ash to which he wasted time waiting for them to grow back.

At a local inn, the red-winged general walked in, his newly grown wings covered. There's a space in the back behind the bar where people pay to arrange meetings in secret. Hawks threw a small coin pouch onto the bar counter before finding his way around the man and into the door. Inside, the room is dark except for the moon's light, shining through a small window, and the ominous glow of Enji's flames.

There's a seat sitting in front of him and a table separating the two. Quickly he bows his head and takes a seat. Immediately the room drowns in silence, the sinister aura of Enji almost convinced Hawks to pry.

"Well..." Enji's booming voice stops Hawks from doing so. Finally, Enji's eyes revealed the red veins surrounding his iris. "I expect nothing more than results on the princess,"

Hawks cleared his throat. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Endeavour. The mercenaries you've sent after the princess are all dead. They were mauled and burned to death by a dragon. The dragon King Katsuki Bakugou and her knight Izuku Midoriya is accompanying the princess as we speak."

"Bakugou?" Enji recalled, "What's that boy doing all the way out here?"

"I've managed to cut Bakugou down but that was the closes I got to the princess. I have failed you, sir." Hawk's gaze dropped.

"It doesn't matter now." Said the old king, standing off his chair. Enji approached the window, getting a view of your castle. "If we can't force the princess to return home, then we'll simply convince her,"

Standing as well, Hawks asks. "What would you have me do, sir?"

"In three months, my wife will want my son to return home for our kingdom's anniversary, but I want him to witness and understand what it takes to be a great king. Think of it as his final lesson on being a powerful ruler of not one but two kingdoms. The princess is the final piece of the puzzle. All we need to do is to trick her into coming back," Enji explained.

"Her father," Announced Hawks, understanding Enji's harmful plan.
