Before leaving for the dead lands, you were given new weapons in the iron city. One by one, Tetsu handed the boys weapons, but for you, he had your sword wrapped in bandages that left you curious. A surprise on his part—he asked that you unravel his creation when you settled in your tent. The sword came after you purchased a new set of clothes for the journey as you were warned about your lack of protection gear.
"Here you go, Princess! Saved the best for last," Tetsu exclaimed, passing your wrapped weapon into your wanting hands. Upon feeling the weight, you felt no change in the balance of the handle and blade.
"Thank you, but you asked for my mother's dagger earlier. Why?" You asked him, curious as he had asked your mother's dagger for an inspection, then returned it after a few seconds.
"Oh! I admire the craftsmanship. The northern kingdom has one of the best metal works I've seen since my mentor's time. I haven't witnessed a blade of that make in action until your mother won the ring of fire," Tetsu explained, which had you surprised. He didn't lie about your kingdom's reputation for building weapons.
Old traditions lost in time and beautifully crafted tools of war carried dust in the grave of their users. Not much is known about crafting nowadays thanks to your grandparent's regime over the years and your father marrying into the throne. Only your mother's dagger served as a reminder of the past.
"So her dragger is an inspiration for my upgrade, right?" You asked, smiling.
"Yep!" The man squeals, rubbing his hands together. "I'm excited to see what you'll do with the blade!"
"Don't get your hopes up Tetsu. These weapons are to protect us from the creatures of the fog," Kirishima laughed, sheathing his new-fashioned swords into their sheaths. Tetsu didn't care about that and insisted that you give them hell whatever the challenge.
Which brings us to now. After setting up camp, you look over the map with the others before dinner. You all decided to deal with the closes rune locations around the fog rather than inside to save the trouble.
