1,000 Steps Behind

Alone...or not

It had been a week since sakura left konoha. She had been traveling long distances and training but still she felt as if...she needed something more. A way to trully gain power as a konoichi. She passed a small library and took a few steps back. 'Why not? Without missions and team gatherings I have all the time in the world.' She thought sadly.

-1 hour later-

She sat determined at a civilians library looking through any shinobi techniques the small building had to offer. By this point she already memorized most of the passages and books within the time she had been here. 'I already know most of this...I need to get my hands on something powerful...' she thought disappointed in her own disability. "Oh well may as well go buy some dango in the shop nearby before hittin the road again~!" she said cherrily trying to lift her spirits a bit. 'Ill get stronger no matter what! Just you watch!' Sakura told herself as a new flame lit within her. She had found a hidden determination. And she was gonna use it.

-5 minutes later...-

Sakura walked in and casually sat down at a window seat. She watched as old and young alike walked by. All smiling as if they havent a care in the world. 'I wish i could be like that again...' she smiled sadly as that thought hit her. *clop tap clop tap* she heard and new a someone was approaching her. As she looked up she saw a young waiter with big innocent violet eyes. She couldnt help but smile and be glad that the young woman hadnt yet been tainted by this cruel worlds horrors. "Hello! How may I help you today?" asked the waiter brightly. "Hmm~ I believe I would like 1 each of mitarashi dango and anko dango!" she chirped, "Right away ma'am!" and quickly stubbled over her own feet to the kitchen. Sakura quietly giggled at how clumy the waitress was.

-3 minutes later-

Soon the waitress came with a tray in the same fashion she had walked away. "Here you go! Enjoy!" "Domo(thanks)" Sakura returned drooling as her stomach growled lowly. The waitress simply giggled in return as sakuras cheeks turned a light hue of red.

Sakura ate her dango quitely as she staref out the window with a mask of indifference. 'Where should we go now inner?' she asked questioning her "inner" softly. 'I dont know...' Sakura sighed quietly as she stood and placed the money on the table. 'For now lets just keep moving away from konoha.' 'Aye Aye! Ur the boss!'

Sakura rapidly lept through the trees in absolute silence. She had been in the forest for about 3 hours by noe. She felt the tempature and wind while glancing at the sky. It was going to rain. She smiled gently. The only things she loved more than watching the crystal-like drops fall from the sky was was gazing at the stars and seeing the sun rise. She saw a cave ahead and felt for any possible animals chakra inside the cave. None. Here, she would set up camp. Sakura went out to find small branches and twigs to start a small fire. As she gathered the last few needed she suddenly felt an sensed chakra approching in her direction quickly from the south. She hid her chakra and lept high within a tree to try and camoflage herself as quickly as possible. As the chakras approched she saw something she was not expecting...
