Once opening night was over, Diluc and the rest of the cafe staff began to clean up. It has been one long exhausting day and the entire party felt like a blur of lights and sound. Situations like that can only get even more common as the days go by so Diluc knows full well he has to get used to it. He was thankful that not many of the customers had ordered alcoholic drinks, unlike Angel's Share. The waiters cleared the dishes and cups while the chefs worked hard to wash them all. He was at the cashier, sorting out the bills with traveler and Paimon. It was now really late at night and many of them were exhausted, wanting to finish their tasks and return home early. Either way, Diluc was glad that things had turned out well so he divided the pay to the entire staff, their efforts greatly acknowledged. Just as he was arranging the chairs, he noticed a dark figure through the windows. He squinted his eyes, only to realize that it was none other than Kaeya himself. He groaned, what could he possibly want at a time like this?
Diluc finished his task and went to check on the others, who have all strangely gathered at the kitchen.
Diluc - Are you guys alright back there? Wha-
Xiangling - Huh? Oh, Master Diluc, heheh, it's not what it looks like.
Paimon - We didn't have our dinner yet and Paimon is dead starving.
Albedo - Hmm, this dish is actually delicious.
Diluc - ........Are you guys actually feasting on leftovers? Goodness, just eat whatever you can and just close the shop once you're done. I'll head out to meet with someone. Have a goodnight, guys, be sure to return home safe.
Chongyun - Heard that loud and clear, Master Diluc!
With a sigh, he left the kitchen. Diluc then went to wear his black coat and walk out the door. The chill wind blew against his thick red hair, refreshing him all of a sudden. Diluc turned to look at Kaeya who was leaning against the wall. Without another word, he then walked away, only to have Kaeya tag along behind him.
Kaeya - You guys seem to have put on quite the show, I was impressed. Who would have thought the gloomy man Diluc could also be such a sucker for sentimental events?
Diluc -That's none of your business. Opening night was suppose to mean something and the staff decided to make it memorable. What exactly are you doing here, Kaeya? Didn't you already have plenty to drink?
Kaeya - Don't be such a spoilsport now, I am only here for a simple conversation. It's been a while since I have talked to my dear big brother. It warms my heart seeing him accomplish something like this, in fact.
Diluc - Quit the sweet talk and just cut straight to the point, what do you want?
Kaeya - Thing is, I'm not going to be all sentimental or sympathetic. I just want you to understand that no matter what happens, I will still think of us and how I wished things had turned out differently.
Diluc - Is this about when.......father died?
Kaeya - Yeah. I have wronged you badly and I know it's my fault. But right now, I can no longer go back to when times were easier. I know you don't trust me and I understand why. That doesn't mean we shouldn't just forget who we once were.
