Narrator's POV

Chongyun pulled Xingqiu into a tight hug. The smell of the dark bluenet made Chongyun long to stay in that position forever. He gripped a bit tighter to Xingqiu's shirt which made Xingqiu laugh a bit. Xingqiu allowed the pale boy to hold on to him a little longer. Chongyun nuzzled his head into the crevice of Xingqiu's neck. Xingqiu blushed and laughed once again.

"Alright, the doctor said that you needed to get some rest, so you should lie down." Xingqiu pushed the light blue haired boy off of him and laid him down onto the hospital bed. He straightened the IV cord and smiled at Chongyun.

"I'm not tired.." Chongyun groaned with droopy eyes. He was clearly lying. The pale boy simply wanted the dark bluenet to stay with him.

"Sure you're not, but doctor's orders!" Xingqiu pointed his finger upwards and smirked as he ignored Chongyun's refusing groans.

The nurse that brought Chongyun to the hospital creaked the door open. Chongyun read the name tag that the grey haired lady had.

'Nurse Noelle. That's a pretty name.' He thought to himself, looking up.

"Sorry to bother you two, but I'll need to ask you a few questions." Noelle was talking to Xingqiu.

Xingqiu's POV

I agreed to answer the lady's questions and walked out the room with her.

"So, these are just a few mandatory questions we nurses need to ask the friends or acquaintances of the victim of physical, mental, or sexual abuse. You are not obliged to answer these questions but it will most definitely help us treat your friend. Is this alright?" The lady--who's name appeared to be Noelle--stated.

"That's perfectly fine." I answered.

"Alright. First question is, how long have you known about his situation?"

"I've known about a bit of it yesterday but I didn't think that it was this extreme." I say with a hint of guilt. I should have been there for my best friend. I feel terrible for letting him suffer through all of that by himself.

"Alright.." Noelle scribbled notes down what appears to be my answer and continued. "How long have you known Chongyun?"

"He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember." I smile nervously.

"You seem to care about your friend a lot." Noelle giggled and smiled back. I nod in agreement.

"He's been with me for a long time. I just feel so bad that I wasn't there to help him.." I lower my head. I listen to the clacking of the pencil as it hits the thin paper which causes the clipboard to bounce as the pencil lifts up and goes back to writing on the paper.

"It's alright, sweetie. It's not your fault, you didn't know." Noelle says as she wraps her arms around me. The cold metal of the clipboard forces a small shiver out of me. I embrace her back, holding on tightly. "Do you want to stop now?" She asks me, letting go.

I nod slightly. Tears have already formed in my eyes and threatened to fall.

She nods and allows me to go back to Chongyun.
