The rain gently tapped on the window, there was a light breeze swaying the trees. The sound of pencil on paper, while the professor continued on with the daily lecture. Though Mitsuki's gaze was not at the front of the classroom, he let out a faint sigh as he glanced out the window. He was exceedingly bored, today's lesson just didn't seem to interest him. He began to wonder what his friends might suggest they do for fun after classes were over for the day, until something caught his eye. Just out the window a small black and white blur scurried out from an old box in the school's dumpster and proceeded into the forest of towering emerald pine trees. Mitsuki was attentively observing the scene happening outside the window , when one of his classmates noticed his gaze on something. Sarada who had been intently taking notes on the English lesson now was curiously eyeing her peer. "He's usually so focused on lessons, it's rare for him to be preoccupied with something other than the lesson during class. I wonder what he could be so interested in?" she pondered to herself. Sarada was so immersed in her own train of thought she didn't notice her two friends beside and behind her. Chocho and Sumire both gazed at each other with a smirk forming upon their faces. Suddenly the bell rang. The class shoved their binders and notebooks in their bags and proceeded to exit the classroom. Sarada neatly put her books into her bag as she watched Mitsuki quickly pack his things and hurriedly jogged out of the classroom. "It's lunch time. He usually waits for Boruto before he goes to lunch. I wonder where he could be going" she thought. Sarada quickly follows behind him making sure to stay far enough behind him that he doesn't notice her. Sumire and
Chocho saw her hurry out of the classroom after him and gave each other the look. They'll have to ask her about her intentions later they agreed and headed to lunch without their friend.

Sarada tried to keep up while staying far enough away even though the halls and staircases were packed with students, so he probably wouldn't notice anyway. She continued pursuing him, he reached the school's back exit which  led to the dumpsters and vast forest behind them. She waited until he exited the building before continuing after him. He was eagerly in pursuit of something, until he halted and knelt on the mossy wet earth beneath him. She quietly hid behind a tree and peaked around to continue observing him. She lightly gasped as a tiny kitten emerged from a hole in the damp tree in front of them. Mitsuki heard the small noise she made and looked back with a somewhat surprised look on his face. Sarada's cheeks were painted with a light rosy blush. She looked at him awkwardly and tried to explain herself. 'I noticed during class you ... looked a little .. um .. distracted so.. So I was just a little worried, and you usually wait for Boruto and I saw.. That you didn't. Um so I just wanted to make sure you were ok... I was a little surprised when I saw you headed into the forest cuz.. It can be dangerous, you know?' she blundered. He looked at her still with a shocked look on his face but it quickly turned into a gentle smile as he showed her the kitten that he'd been so eagerly looking for. "I noticed this kitten crawling out of the dumpster into here, I've been trying to catch it since I first spotted it about a week ago." he told her nonchalantly. "O-oh ok  well I was just worried, you're usually so concentrated during class it's not common to see you so inattentive. But I'm glad to know you were just looking for a cute little cat.' she exclaimed, smiling at him. She walked up to him and knelt beside him to pet the small feline in his arms. He examined her facial expressions change form a light smile, to an adoring look you would see on a parents face when they hold their newborn for the first time. A faint endearing smile crept on his face as he watched her dote on the little kitten. "So do you plan on sneaking him into the dorms?" she questioned him. "Hmm how will our classmates feel about it?" he asked her. "I think our class won't mind if we bring a cute kitten into the dorms. We can keep him in the living room we just have to make sure none of the headmasters see." she told him. They went to a boarding school where each grade had their own dorms that included a living room, a small library at the entrance, kitchenette (with a microwave and fridge mostly just for their snacks), four bathrooms, and on the right side the girls dorms and the left side the boys dorms. "I suppose you're right." he replied, sounding a bit unsure.

They made their way to the dorms, Sarada had the kitten in her bag. Mitsuki was holding most of the contents of her bag so the kitten wouldn't get squished. They quickly entered the dorm. No one was in it because it was lunch time. Sarada grabbed a bowl from the kitchenette and filled it with water and took a plastic sandwich bag with her too. She placed the water on the ground for the kitten, and watched him quickly gulp down the water. "What's the bag for?" Mitsuki asked her, confused. "Well we're gonna have to feed him, we'll need to pick up some real cat food on the weekend when we are allowed outside of school grounds, but for now we'll have to share some of our lunch." she told him. "I guess you're right, we should head to the cafeteria then, before lunch ends. " he replied. They got to the café, grabbed their lunches and sat at their table. Sitting next to each other instead of their usual spots, though Sarada was still next to Chocho. Mitsuki however was next to Shikadai and across from Boruto, instead of being next to him. Chocho watched as her friend nonchalantly put some chicken from her lunch into a sandwich bag, sealed it, and tucked it away in her bag. Shikadai questioningly eyed Mitsuki as he did the same. Shikadai had always thought Mitsuki was kind of weird anyway and brushed it off for the time being. Chocho however knew that was out of the norm for her best friend but didn't ask. Chocho, Sumire and Sarada began chatting as they usually would, and Mitsuki mostly just listened to Boruto's stories making snide remarks and jokes here and there,  but ultimately did not talk very much as he's known to be quiet and a bit awkward.

After eighth period Mitsuki and Sarada made sure they were the first ones back at the dorm, so they could make sure the kitten was ok. They found him hiding under a sofa in front of the fireplace. Sarada gently pulled him out from under the sofa and coddled him like a baby in her arms. "It's ok little guy." she stated. Mitsuki smiled and knelt beside her and petted the kitten's little head. "So what do you want to name him?" Sarada asked him. He looked to the side with a questioning face and pondered. "Hmm" Mitsuki looked into the small fluffy creature's eyes, the little cat looked back into his pupils fully dilated, as if it was boring his eyes into his soul. He then looked up to the wall beside him, on it was a painting of the moon gently caressing the sandy landscape of Suna with it's light blue hue. "Mikazuki...how about that?" he questioned the cat. "Meow" the tiny kitten remarked with his eyes closed, and head tilted, as if answering him. "It's settled then your name is Mikazuki!" Sarada happily stated. Mitsuki smiled at her as she cheerfully tickled the kitten's belly. "What are you guys doing!?" someone called out to them. They looked up to see Chocho and Sumire standing at the entrance of the dorms. Chocho had a suspicious look on her face. "We found a kitten! His name is Mikazuki!" Sarada happily told her friends as she walked toward them still holding the kitten like a baby in her arms. "AAAAhhh!  So cute!" Sumire and Chocho loudly screeched. Mitsuki watched as all the girls huddled around the kitten poking his fluffy cheeks and petting his soft little head. The rest of their classmates came in not soon after and all took turns petting the kitten. "So who will he be sleeping with?" Wasabi asked, while looking back at Mitsuki and Sarada. "Well Mitsuki was the one who found him first, I just helped him sneak him in...so he should sleep with Mitsuki" Sarada explained. Wasabi frowned. "I was hoping he could stay in the girl's dorm but I guess if Mitsuki found him then that's fair." she moped. She walked over and handed the kitten off to Mitsuki. "Thank you" he said to her, she nodded back to him. Mitsuki made sure to bring Mikazuki over to Sarada before taking him into the boys room. "Good night Mikazuki! See in the morning." she told the little kitten while caressing his chin. She looked up to Mitsuki "Good night Mitsuki.. See you tomorrow. " she said to him. "Uh ah Good night Sarada!" Mitsuki said with a smile on his face. As he walked up to the boys bedroom he thought to himself. "I wonder if that will become a daily thing we say to each other" he contemplated, he doesn't talk to Sarada often, the only person he talks to every day is Boruto. Perhaps he could become close to her, like a friend.

+So this is the first chapter{kind of short I know} I have never written a whole fanfic as a whole story only like bits and pieces so some cliques would be nice, I honestly can't tell if it's cringe or not lol. Anyway hope you enjoy!+
