his pale calloused hands were worned out, possibilities laid out beneath him; Marius has been painting for seemingly eight strong hours, no rest or breaks in between and what did that bring him? nothing but a painting which was never finished.

he scowls in frustration, eyebrows furrowing at the empty canvas infront of his eyes. what was he missing? that question lingered in his mind once more "you." the man unconsciously said, whole figure slightly flinching. was he thinking of you? he gripped his paintbrush harder as if he wanted to break it, when did his play flirting hit him hard? Marius was slowly getting agitated with the questions his inner conscious kept asking.

with nothing in his mind besides you, he fished out his phone from his pockets; fingers moving quickly to dial your number yet he paused. is this a good idea? he shook his head, thumb pressing dial thinking "this is a good idea"

Marius' heart was racing, beating and begging to leave his rib cage and for once, he couldn't keep his calm aura. The moonlight flickering the canvas from behind him, his thigh started shaking up and down, finger tips traced the sides of the canvas while his phone was tucked in between his hand and his ear.

you're not gonna pick up, he thought, you're probably asleep. Sighing he pulled the phone away from his ear, hoping that he didn't disturb your most needed sleep but then on the sixth ring, you picked up "yes?"

Marius didn't know if he should thank the gods or despise them for making you pick up, so on instinct he took back his phone, clearing his throat to just mutter a small "still thinking of me?" when in reality, you never left his mind.

"tsk, is that what you called for me" that's not what he called for you, Marius chuckles audibly "You called me first what do you mean?" his fingers took hold of his pencil once more before he started drawing mindlessly "Marius I'm sleepy cmon" that took a hit, so did he disturb you? hands focused on the drawing while he tries to control his thoughts.

"did I disturb you?" he genuinely asked, concern laced on his tone, thighs shaking harder and all of a sudden he felt his heart tighten as he anticipated for your answer. c'mon tell him that you disturbed him so that you can go back to sleep was what he wanted to say, but alas you have comforted him.

"you're annoying but you can never disturb me" and in that moment, Marius felt his walls crumble and he thinks, no he did not deserve someone like you, someone who was loving and understanding. he confided in you, looked for your warmth and loved the way you always scolded him for his kid-like actions. was this what they called puppy love? he never knew, how could he know? he only got people chasing after him but never him chasing one.

clearing his throat again he replied "ouch~ that hurts you know~~" chuckling at the end of the sentence to make it not seemingly awkward, pencil scraping across the canvas; portraying a person with no facial features, but his mind begged him to draw you, his muse.

he continued chatting the night away with you but when you finally whispered a small good night greeting, he internally begged the gods that you won't mind staying up with him for a bit longer but he knew his limits. "Goodnight my darling ~" he wished he had confessed on that same night, the empty feeling that was once there came running back when you had stopped the phone call.

Marius then stared at the unpolished drawing infront of him, now with specific details and facial features that resembled you. puffing his cheeks to blow it out, he closed his eyes, that's when he thought that calling you was not a good idea; cuz instead of him looking at you as a friend, the man can no longer treat you as one and for once, he wished that he had whispered you a love song instead of a simple good night.
