Nia.

Jaden paced up and down the room.

"Daddy? What the Fuck? This has to be some sick joke. Dad, this is not funny, and Ni you are supposed to be my best friend, and you are trying to mess with my head!" Jaden exclaimed, looking at me dead in the eye as if he hated me.

I huddled myself up on chair, rocking backwards and forwards, trying to make sense of things..

"C'mon J, don't be like that ma-" Mr Smith started, but Jaden interrupted.

"No DAD. Which one of you is gonna explain what the HELL is going on.. Daddy? Big sister?"

Silence filled the air.

At this point, I was sure that Jaden was not happy about the brother and sister thing.. I mean who was? I wasn't, and I'm sure that no one else would be comfortable with the situation.

How could Mr Smith and my mum do that?

Sleep with each other whilst he was in a relationship?

I felt sick, as if the insides of my gut was turning.

I was the result of an affair, or an one night stand. Or I could possibly be a home wrecker.

I looked towards the kitchen to see whether Mrs Smith was anywhere around.. She deserved to know what could possibly destroy her marriage at the same time that her eldest son does.

"She isn't here." He replied dryly.

"Yo J" A familiar voice said.

He ran down the stairs.

'You gotta see what Ray-" He stopped once he saw me, in my distressed state.

"Nia" he whispered.

We stared at each other for a few seconds, no words were said.

"Baby, I-"

"Baby? Go away Jacob. Weren't you having fun with your mami Maya?"

I put my head in between my lap.

"Just leave me alone, I don't wanna see your face." I fumed.

"Jacob just go, we got shit to sort out." Jaden said, annoyed.

"I'll call you Nia?" He said, hopefully.

I didn't answer. What just Jacob take me for? He is always going on about his undying love for me, and how we should be together forever, but he does shit like that? I don't understand what's going on. Nothing makes sense right now.

"Dad? You owe us an explanation.. Big time. Me and Nia deserve it."

I looked up at him, hoping that we were passed whatever happened between us, but he looked blankly at the wall in front of him.

Mr Smith sighed.

"Ok. It was a mistake. A one night stand. Me and Jada has broken up for a while, I hooked up with your mum, and that's it." Mr Smith said.

So I was a one night stand. A mistake.

"That's it? Don't fucking lie to us dad." Jaden shouted, flinging a lamp off the table, and causing it to smash on the floor.

"OI. I MADE A MISTAKE. BUT I'M STILL YOUR FATHER, SO YOU BETTER WATCH YO MOUTH BEFORE I BEAT YO BLACK ASS."

Jaden and Mr Smith kept arguing back and forth. But I was in my own world.

My thoughts were jumbled up.

Scrambled.

So my best friend was my.. brother? And all these years, we never knew?

The sound of glass smashing brought me back into reality.

Then I remembered the last day I spent with my mum..

The tears..

The emotions..

The truth..

The envelope.

The Envelope.

"The envelope.." I whispered, whilst running towards the door, and sprinting down the street, ignoring my named being called.

My breath rattled as I ran along the pavement, as fast as I could. Once I got to my door, I sat on my doorstep, panting heavily. Once I regained my breath to an acceptable level, I rang the door bell repeatedly, until Jordan came to open the door, as he was the only one at home.

"What the hell-" I didn't say to listen to what he had to say, as I ran up the stairs and into my room, in search of the envelope.

-

I searched everywhere, and I still couldn't find it. I almost gave up, as tears stung my eyes, and I violently rubbed them away. I pulled out my suitcase underneath my bed. Under my suitcase, lay the envelope. Quickly, I whipped the envelope from underneath my bed, as if I was afraid that anything would happen to it. I wiped my tears away, and opened the sealed part of the envelope. I made my self comfortable, by sitting on my bed, sitting my legs together. As I slid the paper out of the envelope, the paper was blank.

"It must be on the other side." I whispered.

As I was about to turn the paper around, my bedroom door flew open, revealing an angry Jordan , an upset Jaden, a hysterical Mrs Smith, and a stressed out Mr Smith.

I turned the paper around, and let out a sob, as I read the DNA results, indicating that Mr Smith was indeed, my daddy.

"It's true?" Mrs Smith whispered, dangerously.

She whipped the paper out of my hand, and read it. She shoved it into Mr Smith's chest, turned back around, and did the unexpected.

She slapped me, with a force so hard that I fell off my bed, and onto the floor.

She ran out off my room, with Jaden following her, and Jordan cursing her and Jaden out.

Mr Smith's sobs was the only sounds that were being made.

I lay on the floor motionless.

A tear ran down my face, as I realised:

Whatever the outcome, this could ruin my relationship with everybody.
