As I rode in the car on the way to the hospital with girls and Darren's brother G-ride a lot was going through my mind about my ex Donovan he was the sweetest man I've ever met and the best boyfriend I've had because of the others were absolute shit him and I met in 89 my senior year of high-school I was shy when I came in contact with his face to face one day in the hallway he knew I liked him from the jump. Over time after we graduated we got, even more, closer than you could ever imagine.
He promised me that he was gonna be a faithful man and that he was ..but unfortunately early this year he got killed in a shooting the night he died was the last time I would ever see him he had bought me flowers and this necklace that had his picture inside of it in which I have not taken off since.
I'm very close with Donovan's family especially his mother after he died his mother informed me that he had told her that he was gonna propose to me and when she told me that my heart just grew more intense pain than I could bear. He was my everything I will never have another significant other who treated me with good respect and treated me with such loyalty.
I've know I've lost some people in my life that was dear to me but I'd never thought I'd lose the love of my life it's just never been the same I'm kinda jealous that Lisa and RoRo got boyfriends and that I don't maybe I'll find someone else that will treat me right the same way he did. We finally arrived at the hospital "Hey y'all go ahead I gotta talk to Gerald" Lisa said giving Gerald himself a serious face. I nodded and preceded to get out of the car with RoRo and Liyah trailing behind them. "What's that all about?" Aaliyah asked. "I don't know... her and Gerald been having issues lately," I said. "Well they'll figure out, I just wanna see my baby boo and get him outta here" RoRo implied. After numerous amounts of walking we finally arrived in Darren's hospital room "This is it the moment of truth and excitement "RoRo said with a hesitant voice. I could tell she was nervous she opened the door to find Darren sitting at the foot of the bed with crutches she ran giving a big hug with tears in her eyes "My baby you're alright thank god! She shouted. I wish this was me and Donovan right now.
"Do you remember anything about what happened?" She asked Darren rubbing his cheeks. "Yeah I and the homeboys were just chilling eating burgers and shit then outta nowhere here come the niggas we were beefing with rolling up and started shooting" he explained. "Damn that must've been some crazy shit RoRo said. "Yeah it was" he replied.
Well, I'm just glad you're alright Aaliyah said. "Thanks, Lili"Darren replied. As for me I hardly said a word to Lisa and they knew off the bat that something wasn't right "Yo Ti you aight?" She asked. Um... I think imma head to the cafeteria" I said trying not to stare at them. Then I sped my way down the hallway "Yo Ti, Wait! Aaliyah's voice said as she finally caught up to me.
