8 : in another life

DANNI POV 

i stood at the altar three years after moving in with my love and here we were about to solidify our bond

"you may now kiss your loves" 

and with that i kissed my yelena to marry her. as we walked back down the aisle holding hands my sister looked at me as if to say ' you did it before me but congrats'. 

As i was getting changed out of my ceremony dress and into my reception dress a bullet rang into my stomach not spraying blood on the dresses though. i dropped to the floor yelena in her underwear ran to my side and put pressure to my stomach as bruce was rushed in to help yelena put my robe around my shoulders and over my legs because she knew i was self conscious. 

hours passed and i thought i wouldn't make it. i woke up to yelena whispering "it's my fault she is nearly dead because of me"

"not true my love" i said 

"Danni oh my god i missed you i love you" she rambled before i cut her off with a passionate kiss

"ehem ladies i need to ask you both something" tony said 

"yeah?"

"me and pep aren't gonna make it could you two look after morgan and peter"

"what do you mean?"

"i'm not - there's intel of an assassination out for me and pep so could you both look after morgan and raise her and pete "

me and yelena exchanged glances of joy and sadness. we knew we both would have to adopt  because neither of us could have children so we were happy but stark being gone and pep too.

"yes" we said in unison 

"pete morgan could you come here?" tony asked 

"hey pete i know i adopted you but me and pep might not make it to next week but Danni and Yelena have agreed to adopt you both if things go south. i love you both maybe in another world this would work out ok but it isn't looking too good" he said welling up as morgan and peter hugged him.

A Week later and tony's demise was everywhere and morgan and peter were shattered so we let pete's friend and girlfriend stay and morgan slept in pete's room with them.

epilogue 

DANNI POV

me pete and yelena dropped morgan off for her first day at college and all three of us cried morgan didn't as she said "i wont cry because crying is showing emotion of trauma and this is too happy for tears because im out of my pit of depression so is pete and his wife mj and all i want to say is i love you all " she whispered a silent 'i love you dada' to tony after we had said our goodbyes.
