Now What? - Sequel To "Not Herself"

Part 2

~Jack's P.O.V.~

I have to wait in the waiting room so I decide to call the boys. They arrive a couple minutes later so now we're just waiting for the doctor to call us in.

"Yo, dude, did you do the thing?" Jerry asks. I had told the boys I was gonna propose to Kim tonight so I knew they'd ask about it.

"Yeah." I smile.

"I'm guessing she said yes." Milton says.

"Yep." I say.

"Jack Brewer and the gang?" a doctor asks, sounding a little confused. We all stand up. "You can come back now." he tells us. We walk in and see a doctor handing Kim a little baby in a blanket.

"Swag! It's a little Kim." Jerry says quietly.

"The other one is right here." a nurse says, holding another baby.

"Two? Is one a little Jack?" Jerry asks.

"Yeah." I say. I take the baby from the nurse and look down at him.

"What are their names?" Milton asks.

"Kennedy Raen (pronounced Rain) and Cade Hunter." Kim answers.

"Oh, oh, oh! I wanna hold one!" Rudy says excitedly.

"Touch my kid and you're dead, Rudy." I threaten. Kim laughs quietly and motions for him to sit.

"Hand him Cade." she tells me. I reluctantly hand the immature sensei my newborn son. Rudy looks excitedly at the little boy and I go over to Kim.

"Hey, Kennedy." I say as I look at her. She's asleep but moves a little when I talk to her. "She's has your blonde hair." I tell Kim.

"Yeah. So does Cade." she smiles as she looks at the sleeping baby girl.

"Um, Kim, you can go tomorrow morning whenever you want." a nurse says.

"Okay. Thank you, Nellie." she says. The nurse nods and walks out.

"Guys, it's 3:30 in the morning. If we're gonna run the dojo tomorrow, we should get going." Milton says.

"Jack, come take your baby." Rudy tells me. I get up and take Cade from him so they can leave.

"Are you coming tomorrow or no?" Milton asks me.

"I might stop by in the afternoon. I dunno though." I shrug.

"Alright. Bye guys!" they all wave.

"Bye!" me and Kim wave back. Once they're gone. I sit down beside Kim's bed still holding Cade.

"Aren't you tired?" I ask.

"You have no idea." she says as she closes her eyes and lays her head back.

"Well, you should probably sleep. They're not gonna be very forgiving tomorrow or at all in the night." I tell her.

"I know." she says. "Take Kennedy. I'm gonna sleep."

"Okay. Love you." I say, setting Cade in a bed beside her's and taking Kennedy. I kiss her forehead as she falls asleep then lay beside her. I hear Cade making fussy sounds so I get up and rock him. He quiets down and falls back asleep. I set him beside his sister in the same bed and lay back down. Even though it's only the first night, I can already tell we're gonna have tiring nights.
