Honestly, why haven't I snuck out before?! This is awesome! No parents, No Tia! No one telling me what to do! I'm on top of the world right now!

As the party continues the more fun it became and before I knew it Brianna was dragging me to a back room away from everyone else.

I was a little confused but I'll go anywhere with someone as hot as her.

"Whew, it was getting a bit too crowded in there needed to come out here for a smoke." She flashes a smile at me, lighting the bud of her cigarette.

Wait, a smoke?!

I never took Brianna for a girl who smokes. I mean we're only in 6th grade!

As I watch her put the cigarette to her mouth my feelings for her are somehow less.

No offense, to people who smoke it's just not attractive watching someone increase their chances of getting lung cancer.

She glances at me, tilted her head to the side. "Want one?"

Say no to drugs.

"Nah, I'm good."

She shrugs going back to smoking while  I awkwardly stand waiting until she finishes. "Nick, I think you're really cute."

Am I dreaming? Is my mom going to scream at me to wake up in the next 3 minutes?

"I...your....cute...t-too." Between each word, I pause to stare into her beautiful brown eyes. She giggles moving in a bit closer, pushing her plump lips into a kissy face.

Holy shit, am I about to have my first kiss?!!

Wait does my breath smell ok?!

I hope I'm a good kisser.

I lean in mimicking her movements and Just as we were about to kiss-

"NICK YOUR MOMS OUTSIDE!" Dawn comes running in at the perfect time almost tripping over his shoelaces. I freeze in my spot feeling my heart drop down to my ass.

"Are sure it's her? I never gave her the address to the party?!"

"Your mom drives a black ford right?"

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's her!"

Dawn turns around glances back outside one more time before he gasps. "Dude, she getting out of the car!"

My body shakes in fear at the thought of my mom finding me at some party at midnight. I just pray that this is all a big coincidence and that the person getting out of the car is a nice white woman who needs directions to the nearest bakery.

"A-Are you sure it's her? Maybe it's just someone who looks like her-"

"Nick!" Dawn snaps. "For the last time your mom is outside and is about to come in to beat your blasian ass!"

Omg, what do I do?! I mean there's no escaping this dilemma. I just have to face it. I knew coming here was a bad idea but I still did it anyway.

I scurry out of the backroom glancing back one last time at Dawn and Brianna who give me a sympathetic smile. Reaching outside my head stays towards the ground. I'm afraid if I look into my mom's eyes I'm gonna burst into tears.
