Not on my fucking watch

Stephen
I got a call from a number I didn't recognize but answered anyway since Nick had called everyone to a meeting.

"Hello. Is this Stephen?"

"Yes. To whom am I speaking to?"

"I'm the school counselor and Peter told me to call this number."

"Did he get hurt again? I swear to god if it was the same kid as last time....."

"No, no sir it's nothing like that. He just had a panic attack and I can't seem to calm him down. The most he could tell me was that you were a neurosurgeon but aren't any longer. I was hoping with a medical background you could help him."

"I can me there, just give me a second and tell Peter I'm on my way."

"Okay. Goodbye sir, we will see you in a moment."

I open a portal to the school and walk into the office. I had Levi change into a jacket and the eye was still around my neck. "Sir can I help you with something? Is there someone you're here to get?" The man at the office desk says and then the lady who I assume is the counselor. She waves me over and I look at the guy at the desk and he nods.

I walk over and into her office to find Peter with his knees up to his head. His head in down and he's covering his ears with his hands. I walk over to him and kneel in front of him and talk through his mind. "Peter? Can you follow my directions?"

"Yes." He says and I grab on of his hands and place it on my chest.

"Follow my breathing and try to match it as best you can."

"Okay." Is all he says and I start to breathe calmly. We do this for a few minutes before he calms down enough to tell me what happened. I decide to speak out loud for the rest of the conversation.

"Peter, can you tell me what caused this to happen?" He looks at me for a second before glancing at the cloak in its jacket form. I take it off and place it loosely on his shoulders. In a shaking and uneven voice he says

"May texted me and said that she was going to take me back. She also said that if dad were to try and stop her she would take him to court over it."

"Peter you know that your dad won't let you leave with her even if she were to take him to court over it. Plus she gave you up for adoption and he adopted you so you legally don't have to go with her." He looks at me and gives a small nod before wiping the tears off his face.

I turn around and see the counselor writing something down. "Ma'am do you think I could sign him out and take him home? I fear he's on the verge of another panic attack."

She looks up and says "Yes." Before handling me a clipboard. I sign Peter out and we walk out of the school. When we get outside I have us walk off a bit until we slip into an alleyway and I make a portal to the tower.

When we get there I close the portal behind myself and Levi changes back and picks up Peter. He carefully sets Peter down on the couch and I walk over to see if I can get him to talk some more. When I sit down Peter leans into me before falling asleep.

I lay him the other way but he grabs onto my arm before mumbling and letting go. I slowly sit up and walk to the kitchen to get a cup of tea while Levi lays onto of Peter and we wait on the others.

An hour later

Tony
We all leave the meeting room and make our way to the commons. When we get there I notice Peter laying on the couch asleep. I check my watch but it says that it's only 1:30. "Odd. I wonder if he got sick." I think to myself before walking over to check for a fever.

I place a hand to his forehead but he's fine. I look up and see Stephen talking with Loki. Well more like scolding him for something but I ignore it and bring my attention back to Peter. Bruce must have caught on to my concern because he walks over and places a hand on my back.

"He's fine Tony. I'm sure he has a reason for being here instead of at school." Bruce says and I nod in agreement before we walk back over to the others. By now Stephen is done scolding Loki and has noticed my look of concern.

"He had a panic attack today during the time he had lunch. May wants to come and get him after the school day ends." He says an Sam and Buck were eating but stop and turn to look at Stephen.

"No fuck that! She gave him up for adoption! She signed the papers to allow Tony to adopt him and now she wants him back! Fuck that!" Bucky says and everyone seems to agree with his statement.

Stephen sighs before saying "Just don't bring it up when he wakes up. I'm not even sure he planed on telling any of us unless he had to."

I turn and look at Peter before my phone goes off. I look at the caller ID but ignore it. If May really wanted my kid then she's in for a surprise.

Later when May Showed up

Peter
I wake up to the sound of quiet coughing and talking. I smell tea and sit up to find that I'm not in the tower anymore. I turn when a door opens and the guy Stephen calls Wong walks in with a cup of tea in hand.

Stephen walks in a second later with Levi on his shoulders. I look at them as they walk in and Stephen walks over and places cup in my hand. It smells like green tea and I take a sip. It burns my throat a bit but I continue to drink it anyway. I look at Stephen as I finish the tea and set the cup on the table in front of me.

"Stephen, why aren't we at the tower?"

"You were still asleep and your dad didn't want you to wake up from all the yelling." Stephen says and I nod. It's true that I would have woken up and probably would have gotten upset again.

Stephen noticed how uncomfortable I looked and he gives me a side hug and we stay like that for a while until Wong walks back in the room with Stephen's phone in hand.

"Stark is on the phone Stephen. I assume this means you're taking the kid back now." He says and Stephen doesn't say anything but grabs his phone and listens to my dad talk. Stephen gives the short and simple answers but I don't know what he's agreeing with. When he hangs up he's quick to make a portal and we walk through it.

When I look around I see most of the Avengers in cuffs. May is standing by two officers and dad is yelling at them while he has Fury on the phone as well.

Stephen
I'm quick to put us in the mirror dimension and they all turn in Peter and I'd direction now. The officers come running in our direction but I have Levi pick Peter up and I use a spell the sends them flying back in May and Tony's direction.

"TONY STARK AND MAY PARKER!" I see Tony flinch at my yelling and I plan on asking him about that later, but for now I need his full attention. I muster up one of my old fake smiles and talk with an overly cheery voice.

"Would either of you care to explain why everyone is currently in hand cuffs and why you Tony don't have a document with you to show that you have adopted Peter legally? May you gave Peter up for adoption so I don't see why the hell you would want him back now. Also Tony why call Fury when you can just ask Pepper for the copy that was sent over after the adoption went on record, or ask Fri as you like to call her.

Also no offense Fury, I hold nothing against you but you really hold no importance in this conversation."

"No offense take Dr." Fury say from the phone. Levi places Peter back down and I slowly walk over to Tony and May. As I was walking over I opened the mirror dimension enough for Levi to sneak out and get the copy from Pepper, who I allowed to listen to the conversation.

I open the mirror dimension again and Levi is quickly at my side with the copy of the adoption documents. I take us all out of the mirror dimension and let the officer in charge take a look at them before the order is given to remove the cuffs from everyone. May gets put into a set of cuffs and I watch as they take her out of the tower.

I hand the documents back to Pepper before coughing a few times into my elbow. The blood has stopped but my breathing hasn't improved much. I just can't let them know what's happening to me or what is to happen soon.
