Fury was evident the moment Gojo stepped inside the chamber to demand an explanation. Yet in the face of his rage, he still managed to get a hold of himself, likely to save his clan's name in case he lost control.

He was informed about Uraume's mission and the refusal of the Higher-ups to support them.

"Very well," an elderly husky voice spoke behind the wooden partitions. "Not every day you pay us a visit, Master Gojo."

Gojo gritted his teeth, slowly losing his composure. These men knew exactly the motives of his arrival for all he cared.

"You told me that you were going to send backups." How it was a challenge to him to hold his voice for it to not come out as a bark. Nevertheless, the allegation was there and it didn't fail to register, not to these so-called important people that the emperor had entrusted.

"If this is about the servant child, they have served their purpose very well." the same voice spoke. "We have sent out plenty of sorcerers before for the same reason. Dispatching the child was no different."

"That isn't the point." Gojo retorted, eyes still and narrow as he tightened his fists. "I am in the position to question why you didn't fulfill your promise."

"Watch your words, Master Gojo," warned a younger man, emerging from the shadows, wearing a long red and white robe, atop his head, was a noshi like the others.

"Accusing us won't be any different in disrespecting the Emperor."

Fujiwara Tokihira.

Gojo suppressed his anger before his cursed energy obliterated the room and everyone inside. He could have killed them but doing so would not change anything. Not only his clan would be branded as traitors but it would shatter their future.

"Then state your reasons," Gojo demanded once again, voice clipped in anger and low. "Why didn't you fulfill your word?"

Fujiwara looked at him from head to toe, calculating him. "Kindly remind us again why the council asked the Three clans to submit their sorcerers." he returned. "It's because we want to unite everyone and to maximize their use. The servant you handed is no different. Whether why or how the plans had changed throughout their mission was out of your authority."

"That child is a kenin and I own them." Gojo pressed. "As their owner, I should be informed before you put them at that risk."

That's exactly why they didn't and he knew of this.

"The capital has been in peace for over a hundred years until the arrival of Sukuna. A curse user of that caliber attracts more and more curses resulting in this chaos." Fujiwara said not to answer him but to defend their actions. "You're a lord of your land, you should know more than anyone else that a sacrifice is needed for this sake."

He wanted to retaliate and he was ready to do so when he realized that they have been doing it for generations. Sending sorcerer spies in the field as lookouts and never coming back was no different to what they did to Uraume. That was how they maintained peace in the capital.

Gojo's mouth twitched, unable to respond when another elderly man spoke.

"If the child is a kenin, then the master here has the right to be angered," he spoke calmly, emerging from the partitions. "As an apology, let us make sure that an incident like this won't be happening again."
