chapter 3: a new lead

sleeping in the hospital, i wake up, seeing a sleeping winter snuggled up close to me while i was asleep

i gently shake her awake

jessie: winter, you gotta wake up

winter: mmmmmm, nooo, five more minutes

i only sigh, gently rocking her more

jessie: winter wake up

she looks up at me and realizes whats happening, a blush wildly spreading across her face and she quickly stands up, fixing her uniform and turning away

winter: s-sorry

jessie: all good, just don't press on one of the gun shots again like you did last night

she only glares at me which i only reply with my usual smirk

winter: anyways, i'm glad your okay

jessie: are you kidding, its gonna take alot more than that to bring me down

winter: you were shot five times, and based on what we learned, they have the same caliber as a desert eagle

jessie: yeah, they looked like desert eagles too from where i was

winter: well, i should get going, and ironwood already has another mission lined up for when you are out of the hospital if you think your up for it

i stand up and out of bed, doing two kick flips

jessie: is that proof enough for you to show that i am ready for the mission?

she only glares at me and waits for me to get dressed into my uniform and igo to the front desk with her, leaning over to the nurse

jessie: excuse me, i was hoping to get my weapons back if you could have somebody bring them back to me or lead me to where they could be

nurse: actually somebody from the atlas military came and picked them up already

jessie: really? was it the general?

nurse: no, i don't know who it was, but they were an atlas military for sure

jessie: interesting, well thank you mam

nurse: no problem, have a nice day sir

jessie: thank you mam

winter: if your quite done, we can finally be on our way

jessie: well excuse me but i remember coming in here with weapons and they don't seem to be here now, so do you want to explain that to me?

winter: why are they not here?

jessie: i would ask you but you slept with me while i recovered, so you wouldn't know either, but she did say that some other atlas military soldier came in and got them already, i mean i'm a weapon smith so i can make new ones, but i'd rather not have to if at all possible

winter: well we can go to the general about this and see what he can find out about this new turn of events

jessie: agreed

she leads me outside to her car and opens the door, getting in to the driver side as i climb in the passenger side and close the door, and she takes us to the atlas command, winter flashing her credentials and i follow her inside, all the way to ironwoods office

ironwood: jessie, good to see your on your feet again

jessie: yeah, i can rebound pretty quickly, it takes a lot to take me down so as you can imagine, those bullets were something else for sure
