Chapter 1: Our parents leave in a flash

It was the first official day of summer break and I was at home with my three best friends Lily, Zoe, and Bianca. We were discussing our plans and the party our parents held every year in honor of something they completed together when they were young.

"I'm so happy we don't have to see Dylan anymore, he was so annoying." said Zoe with a sigh. Dylan was this kid at our school who thought he was the gods' gift to everyone. Wait 'the gods'? What was that about? I just shrugged it off.

That night the other girls spent the night like always. My brothers had somehow convinced my parents to let Lily's younger brother Jake sleep over as well.

It was defiantly past midnight when there was a crash down stairs. "What was that?" I asked to no one in particular. "I have no clue." Lily answered. "maybe we should go and check." Bianca suggested. "I don't know. what if it's a robber?" Trust Zoe to be the one to think of the worst case scenario. "I doubt that, your dad built an uptight security system on this place." I reminded her.

After a minute of arguing, we decided to go and investigate. On the way down the stairs, a voice made us all jump. "What are you guys doing." It was my younger brother Luke. "What are you doing?" I asked him. "We heard a noise."
"We?" And ther was Charlie and Jake right behind him. "Stay behind us you three." Bianca looked at them in a disapproving manner that reminded me much of her mother.

We crept down to hear a deep voice. "Master will be very pleased. He has been looking for you every where." Then what I assumed as Jake and Lily's mother, Piper said, "but do you really want to take us to this master? I think you just want to let us go and do your own trouble." I then felt like walking up the stairs to my brothers' room and drawing on the walls.

"Charm-speaking won't work on me pretty." Said the voice. I looked at my friends quizzically. 'What's charm-speaking?' I mouthed. 'No Idea.' Zoe mouthed back.

We created closer and I could see all of our parents. the creepy voice seeped to be coming from the dark corner. I felt like I was in some horror movie.

Just then my dad turned. When he saw us his sea green eyes widened. All of a sudden something started glowing. "You can't escape now." I understood, the guy in the corner was trying to take my parents.

"Charlie, look in the emergency drawer. Call The first number and tell her what's happened." On a normal day I would have wondered why my mom was putting so much trust on my brother even if he was older, but today was defiantly not normal. Than there was a big flash. I shielded my eyes. when I looked back the room was empty.

Luke looked up to me, he looked a lot like mom, same grey eyes and blond hair. "Where's mommy and daddy?" He asked. "I-I don't know." I felt bad, he was only seven. I was 12, and Charlie was 14. Lily and Jake were my age and twins, Jake looked like his mother and Lily like her father. There was also Bianca who was 13 and the most responsible of us she looked like both her parents in her appearance. Finally there was Zoe. She is a lot like her dad personality wise, but she looked a lot like her mother Calypso. She was 11, but would always remind us that she'll be 12 next month.

Charlie then rushed over to the drawer that are parents told us to never open unless told to. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't a pad of paper and a phone.

"How is this supposed to help us?" Jake asked. no one seemed to have an answer. Bianca grabbed the paper and read "'Thalia.' There's a phone number here too."
"Well call it!" Lily said loudly almost breaking my ear drum. I snatched up the phone and punched in the numbers with my shaky hands.

It started dialing and a girl picked up. "Hi, It's Thalia." She said. "I glanced around and mouthed 'it's her.' They gestured me to continue. "Um, I'm Salena and my parents told me to call you."
"By chance are your parents Annabeth and Percy Jackson?"
"Yeah." I wondered how she knew.
"What happened this time?" She said with a sigh.
"There was this voice and a big flash and now they're gone!" I said. I admit I started crying, I was really worried, and the realization that our parents were gone crashed down on me. 
"We'll be there really soon." she said. "Okay...Wait, we?" But it was to late, she already hung up.

"What do we do now?" Luke asked. "Now," Charlie said, "we wait, and hope this 'Thalia' can help us."
