The Children of the Seven

Chapter 2: Officaly, the most confusing moment of my life!

I was super bored. We were waiting around for some girl named Thalia who would help us since our parents disappeared in a big flash of light. Awesome. (Note the sarcasm.)

"Will you stop the tapping?" Jake looked annoyed. "I'm sorry if I have ADHD!" Actually we all had it, but I was like my dad and it was major. I hadn't really noticed I was drumming my hands on the counter.

It felt like hours when there was a knock on the door. We all jumped. "Who is it!" Bianca asked in a shaky voice. "Thalia, you guys called me." We glanced at each other. "She sounds young, like our age young."
"No duh, Sherlock." Honestly Charlie was always stating the obvious.

Lily slowly got up and walked to the door. She unlocked the bolt and opened it. There was a girl with spiky black hair, black punk clothes, a silver parka, and surprisingly a silver circlet on her head. She couldn't be older than 16 and had a faint glow around her, if that's even possible. 'Thalia' just marched right in like she owned the place. Following her were a bunch of teenage girls also in parkas.

"What's with the tiara?" Thalia just glared at Jake and he shrunk back in fear.
"Is this all of you?" She asked me. "Uh-yeah. All 7 of us." She whispered something to the blond girl next to her. "Amelia, you're in charge 'till I get back." all but Thalia and the blonde rushed out into the night.

"This is Sofi. Follow us." They started heading to the door, but only little Luke had moved. "where are we going?" He asked looking up at the girls. Sofi just looked back in disgust but Thalia had a look of sympathy in her eyes.

"How old are you?" She asked. "Seven." He answered simply. Thalia seemed to grow sadder, as if reliving an old memory. "He asked you a question." Salena said. Determination in her voice. She obviously didn't like this girl asking her younger brother questions. "To camp." Yes because that just explains everything.

She turned and went out the front door, we had no choice but to follow. Sofi and Thalia seemed to keep away from the boys, but I kept seeing Thalia look momentarily at Luke who was holding Charlie's hand.

Now don't get me wrong, I like nature as much as the next person, but honestly, trudging through the woods in the middle of the night was not something I suggest doing. Branches kept scratching my arms and legs and I kept tripping over roots. Stupid Trees!

We finally got to a small clearing. "should we rest here?" Sofi asked Thalia. I noticed that it was the first time I had heard her speak. "Is Thalia your leader?" I asked her once she motioned me over to help. "No, she's the lieutenant. When our Lady is away, she's in charge." These people never gave any straight answers. I mean, what's 'camp'? And who's 'our lady'?

Once the tents were set up (which was surprisingly quick), the boys went into one and the girls in the other. "I'm on guard duty first." Thalia stated stepping out of our tent once we were more or less settled in. "Wait!" I quickly said. "Who are you guys, really?" Sofi glanced at Thalia. "The Hunters of Artemis." The hunters of what now? This day just keeps getting more and more confusing. Little did I know that this was just the beginning.
