My name is Willow Crest.Im 17 years old.Im also a prodigy. My best ability is to dance.I mean I would hope so because I'm graceful with every step I take,I mastered every move I think.Wait did I? "Willow, are you okay honey, your breathing heavy." my mother says while looking over me.I give her small smile. We are currently in the kitchen discussing what I should wear for the first day of school tomorrow.Im attending a high school for prodigies. She looks back at the magazine looking for an outfit."Oh honey, I love this dress. It looks cute and I can get Margaret to style your hair perfectly with this dress." she says while pointing at the dress and tilting the magazine a bit to show me.I smile at it."It's beautiful." I say.Margaret is my mom's friend but she is hired as my own personal hair stylist and makeup artist. One thing I forgot to mention, we're pretty rich.Which is annoying. Why have so much money when you don't know what to do with it."So mom, I shouldn't wear any jeans or something?" I ask her.Thats a good question actually, because what if I, expected to dance tomorrow."Oh no, I checked with the principal and he said that the first day of school is just a meet and greet. But, he also said that there's a buddy system at the school so you will be paired with someone that is another prodigy of something." she says while texting.I nod.Good, this is first public school Im going to.
"Are you going into the building?" I ask her out of the blue.Truth is I really don't want my mother to go because we all know how parents either like to brag or like to talk about the dumbest things we do.Her smile drops and she frowns."Of course, why are you asking?" she asks with a raised brow.I shrug. Then another question pops in my head."How are we going there?" I ask her.I don't want people to see me arrive in a limo and automatically treat me with fake affection because of my money."In a SUV." she says and purses her lips while scrolling on her phone.I release a breath in relief."But Abe is driving us." she says quickly.I groan and she rolls her eyes."Im going to my room." I say while exiting the kitchen.Walking into my room my eyes land on a envelope with my name written in black ink on my window sill.I narrow my eyes at it.I walk over and open up the letter.
Dear Willow,
Your mother told me that your going to your first public school tomorrow.I know I haven't been able to go to a lot of things in your life, but I promise I won't miss this event.Your not my little baby anymore, your a 17 year old prodigy.I couldn't help but make you something, inside of the envelope behind this letter is a ring that I made for you.Your mother told me your ring size so I made it for you.I hope you like it.
Sincerely,
DaddyP.S.Im back!
I take the letter out and see's a silver ring with a little design of a Willow tree carved on it.I smile and slide the ring on my finger. The door just bursts open and I hit my head on the window from being startled.I look behind me to see my mother looking through my closet."Mother what are you doing?" I say while laughing and groans at my new headache."Im looking for my black pumps." she says quickly while looking through my closet."Where are you going?" I ask her.She stops searching for her shoes and looks at me."Theodore just called me and told me that I have to go to Las Vegas next week, specifically Monday for my new store in that area and sell some clothes, and you know I don't like packing late so I'm doing it now, and I can't find my black pumps." she says while wiping a hand on her forehead.I widen my eyes."So I might as well pack right?" I say while dragging out my suitcase from underneath my bed."No.Honey your not going." she says.I make an O shape with my mouth and slide my suitcase back under my bed and then pulls her black pumps from underneath my bed.I hand them to her smiling sheepishly. She narrows her eyes at me and walks out of my room.
Then a thought occurs in my mind.By next week I should have a couple of friends so maybe I can throw a party!I grin, yes a party indeed.
