I rolled my eyes and turned to M raising my eyebrow.
"A. this is my husband, Mark, babe this is my best-friend Aife." Mazikeen said.
I forced a smiled, stretched my hand for him to shake, and said "Nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you."
Mark shook my hand and said "Well, I haven't heard anything in the 3 and a half years I've known Mazikeen for."
Mazikeen coughed and laughed "He's just joking with you, come on, lets get a drink at the bar."
Before I could answer she grabbed my hand and dragged me away.
She heaved a sigh "Don't pay him mind M"
"Urghhh, how can you stand him." I said and rolled my eyes.
"He nice when you get to know him, just give him a while to warm up to, for me okay?" Maze said.
"Fine, I'll play nice, just for today, just because it's your birthday." I said.
We reached the bar and I asked for two glass cup "Lets go out back,"
We walked out back, through a beautiful garden, they had many different type and color of flowers, the water fountain was surrounded by pale green grass and all different sort of flowers.
"Is that the black orchid?" I asked Maze, it was my favorite flower and she grew it by the fountain.
"It is, it's beautiful isn't it." Maze said.
I turned to her and she quickly looked away, I think. She wasn't referring to me, but the flower. I'm just dreaming, she wouldn't like me, after all she has a husband.
We continued walking for another 2 minutes and reached a dock, it had a beautiful white pavilion and gold Christmas lights.
"I could live here" I said.

I place the cup and the gift bag on the table, then took out the whiskey bottle and poured us a drink.
"Mmmmm, my favorite" Maze said.
"I know, that's why I bought it, question, why did you serve only champagne?" I asked
She rolled her eyes "because Mark colleagues would be here and he thought it would be better for everyone."
I nodded and hummed, "okay den."
"Say it." She said
"Say what?" I said

"That, you want to say something but will not say it because you think it will hurt my feelings."
"Look M, I don't want to argue okay, how about we forget about it." I said
"We'll talk about this another day" Maze replied.
We sat in silence for 30 seconds before she asked "So how is single life?"
I raised my eyebrow "Really? out of all the questions you could ask, you choose that one."
She giggled and say "Well I want to know"
She whispered "I miss being single"
I don't think I was to hear but before I could answer her, we heard Mark calling for her.
We looked at each other, gulped down our drink and walked to him.
"Hey babe, I've been looking for you, the guest is starting to leave and we need to see them out." Mark said
"Okay then, lets go." Maze said.
They walked away and she noticed I wasn't following, I smiled and said "I'll meet you in there."
She nodded, turn around and started walking back.
