Standing in the apartment we shared with Danny only made the heartbreak worse. He didnt even believe me when I tried to explain
.I packed my boxes angry and also feeling devastating that I am leaving behind such precious memories.I walked past the little corner near the kitchen where Ethan had set up dinner and proposed. I hastly wiped the tears running down my cheeks.
Luckily my belongings weren't much so the quicker I packed,the quicker I could get away from my terrible past.But he would've been my perfect future.
Danielle was with her father which made the work much easier. I taped the last box and breathed out a sigh. Four boxes . Thats all I left with.I always did this to myself,overly rely on a man only to end up heartbroken.I carried all the boxes to the car one by one.
Once I was done I took a piece of paper and a pen and wrote a note simply saying . I am sorry I hurt you and I will always love you~T .
I left his keys on the coffee table and made sure to close the apartment door well to prevent a break-in
Driving away was heart wrecking.I had no idea what I was going to do and I kept on reminiscing of the day Ethan accused me of cheating
《My soon-to-be in laws' eyes shot lazers to my forehead and I stared at theconfused.
I ignored everyone and went looking for Ethan .I found him in the backyard with a cigarette in hand .I thought he quit smoking a long time ago.
"Hun?"I said confused and almost in a whisper . He turned to face me ,his eyes roamed down my body until they landed on my face and I got the same glare as I got from his parents but ten times worse.
"Hi ex-soon to be wife"He said with a mocking smile but a deadly tone to his voice.
"Wha-what do you mean?"I said confused at all the wierd things happening on the day which should be my wedding.
"Ohh nothing my beatiful cheater"He continued to throw insults. "Ethan what is going on?" I asked with fear in my voice.
"You know what is happening you whore!Unless you are still drunk and can't remember yourself having sex with a stranger in your goddamn parents' house "He spat furiously.
"I would never do such Ethan,why would you create such a lie on the day we are suppose to get married"I asked devastated at the accusation being thrown at me.
Ethan shook his head and chuckled feining humuor"I cant be with a woman who will always cheat on me when she has a sip of beer and to think that this is not the first time"He said glaring daggers to my forehead.
"Come on Ethan,You know what happened that day!That man kissed me forcefully and unfortunately I was drunk!I dont even remember having a drink yesterday at the party Ethan,Im not a drunkard!"I hissed tears rushing down my cheeks like Niagra falls.
"So you willingly cheated on me?Great!"He yelled back.
"I would never do such babe please believe me"I begged not knowing what to do anymore.
"I dont know what to believe anymore Tay.The wedding is off"Ethan sighed storming off and lighting another cigarette exasperatedly.
I fell to the ground and sobbed into the palms of my hands.A hand wrapped itself around my shoulders and began to gently rubbed my back.Just from the smell of the cologne I knew it was my Dad.He always had my back no matter what》
I reached to a stop infront of a decent-looking affordable hotel where I would spend the night and tommorow morning I plan on going apartment hunting.
I let Danny spend another day with her father whose mood had become unexplainably happier since my break up with Ethan. He said he was sorry things between Ethan and I ended the way it did and even garanted me that he was happy with Ivy and wouldnt try and make a move on me.As for now Im to believe him because I do not want to cause more unnecesary drama.
On the brighter side I hired a private investigator to look into what actually happened that day but from the looks of it, the person who took advantage of me covered his/her tracks up very well.
I still had hope that the person could be found and Ethan and I could go back to how happy we were. I missed him soo much ,I mean we were not a perfect couple .We had our fair share of issues but the love we had for one another overcame every challenge and squabble we ever had.At the end of the day we were just like any other ordinary couple but we were Ethan and Tayla the loving couple...
I quickly opened the door to the hotel room and rushed to lay on the bed with a sigh. I closed my eyes thinking of what I am to do with my life. I guess I just had to go back to be the ordinary woman who worked as the head nurse at a Private hospital that exploited its workers.
My train of thoughts were stopped by the ring on my cellphone. "Hello?" I said to tired to even talk.
"Tayla its me Kyle,I have a few things I'd like to share"Kyle my private investigator said with his rough voice.
"Yes!" I said quickly sitting up.
"Well,It has been confirmed that your drink was indeed spiked .Thats all we can find soo far,like I said before The person covered up their tracks pretty damn good.As of now we are at a dead end but I will definetely keep you updated if anything new pops up"He said hanging up the phone before I could speak. I knew it! ...
