Now we come upon Christmas.
It's Christmas day and faith and hope run down stairs to see what they received. Now faith found a beautiful necklace that had an anchor on it. With a card that said I with you always- father. Now she held this close to her heart and treasured it closely. But hope only found a small card that said ask and ye shall receive. Hope used this to push the man away even more. And yet again mocked faith.
One day a strange man came to the orphanage and told the girls he would take them home. Faith refused saying that the man would still come back for her. Hope tried to persuade her sister to come. But when faith refused yet again her sister began to mock her. The strange man also did so. Saying that the man always made those promises bit never keep them. Faith still refused. She said he was coming back and believed it in her heart. And so the man and hope left.
Now I'm afraid hopes story didn't go to well. She was forced to work just to stay there. The man never payed attention to her except to tell her something else to do.she soon became miserable. He never let her shower or gave her clean clothes. So that her white dress was soon ruined. Now Faith wrote to the man(who she now called father.) About hopes leaving, and yet again the man did not answer. The other children laughed at faith more for not going with her sister. But faith knew in her heart that she already had the father she needed. But when she said this even the caretakers began to mock faith. So much so that at night when everyone else was asleep she would weep. But in those times she remembered her father's Christmas card saying I am with you always. And so she keep having faith.
Now back to Hopes side of the story. The man had her call him master. She wasn't allowed to sing or even dance.
And when she smiled to herself remembering the times she and her sister would go down to the meadow and make daisy chains. The man would beat her. But faith continued to ask her father for help. But hope long since gave up on the man. Even in her despair she would not turn to the man for help.
